    Policy applying to everything!

I guess I should add that the domain controllers are 2000 and our new Terminal Servers are 2003 Standard. I do know that the 2000 GPO doesn't give you a whole lot of control over Terminal Services. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Policy applying to everything!

I am having trouble with a policy that I recently setup. The policy is intended to restrict settings on two brand new terminal servers that we just bought. I created and configured a group policy to apply to the two servers and the users that log into the terminal servers. Problem is that...

RDP sessions locking users out VERY often

Thanks for replying PuzzledUnix. I have poured the GPO for the domain and could see nothing that was configured concerning Terminal Services. There is no screen saver enabled on the server or on the client. I have timed the lock out to every two minutes using an user account who mentioned the...

RDP sessions locking users out VERY often

We are experiencing an issue here at my company with remote desktop sessions timing out and locking the user out of their session. It's acting exactly as if you would lock a workstation locally except they are all remote desktop sessions with a Windows 2003 Standard server. It is not...

Terminal services, locks screen after 2 minutes!!!

I am dealing with this as well. Clients are idle for about 2 minutes (haven't timed it exactly) and their session is locked and they have to re-enter their password to resume it. no information is lost. no programs are closed. It is just getting annoying. I've looked and looked for a...

Going back to Switchboard from a form

Thank you ZmrAbdulla for the quick response. That is a good idea. Any ideas on how to go about coding something like that? Unfortunately I am not a programming guru either. Life would be a lot easier if I were though. Thanks again!

Going back to Switchboard from a form

I created a database to house our IT inventory. All the forms are how I want them, relationships and so on. I have just recently created a switchboard as an interface to the database. What I am having problems with now is going back to the switchboard from a form. For example, if a user...

    Database Directory filling up HDD

...cut your pruning in half or better if that is an option. Instead of pruning jobs that are 30 days or older make it 15. You can also delete the *.chg files from the database directory. You can delete all of them except for the ones that are dated for the current job date. That will be a...

Windows Loops at Login - Virus Related? Advice appreciated

Have you tried to boot the machine into safe mode? If you hit the F8 key during boot up it will give you the choice of booting into safe mode. Once in safe mode check the UPS service. Disable the UPS service and reboot the machine normally to see if the problem persists. Hope this helps!

    Nothing under My Network Places

Thanks for the reply eyec. I haven't run into major league problems with the upgrades. They went pretty smooth actually. This problem is just nagging me. The Map Network Drive feature works fine so you know that the network browsing feature is working. I've even compared services and could...

    Nothing under My Network Places

I noticed when I have upgraded an NT 4.0 SP6 machine to Windows XP Pro SP2 I am unable to see the Entire Network feature when browsing. On the upgraded machines, when I right click on the My Computer icon and choose explore and click on the plus sign or click the My Network Places link, there...

    Incomplete Backup Job

What version of ArcServe are you using? I run a full backup everyday and the log file always tells me incomplete. I was worried about it at first but upon looking into it there was nothing to fear. The incomplete is given, at least in my case, because of a few corrupt files that I can't seem...

    I'm Baaack!

I'm not quite sure of a site that may warn you ahead of time about browsing threats. I agree whole heartedly with you, mlack, about how this sort of thing can degrade your reputation as far as your skills go. I've learned to let it roll off of my back and just do it again thus far. I think as...

    I'm Baaack!

I feel your pain! I myself have received the very same phone calls. I've followed recommended procedures, cleaning tips and tricks, I've even had a few innovations of my own. I operate about three PC's here at work and can honestly say that NONE of them have one tenth of one percent of the...

The password for your winxppc isn't blank is it? I have ran into this with XP Pro machines running SP2. I don't believe that XP SP2 machines will accept blank passwords.
