I plugged a phone into every extension and when I hit the intercom button, I get the intercom tone, except on extension 15 (on the ACS module), there is nothing, no tone. But the extension works, I can make an intercom call from or to the extension (it rings when it receives an intercom call)...
exsmogger, you were right, I moved the card into slot 1 and the green light comes back on and stays on. I thought we had that module in slot 2, but I guess not. So the green light isn't just a power on light, it's also a functional operation light. If I move that card to slot 2 or 4 or 5, the...
Thanks for the reminder, #505 did the trick. What is the code to reset the PC Messaging card back to defaults, I want to wipe it out and start over?
Too bad for the 206 card, guess I'll open it up and see if it's anything obvious. I thought when we took this system out that it was all...
feature-59 tells me to insert a valid card"
I meant to say #125 tells me to insert a valid card, since the PC Messaging card is also a backup/restore card (if I remember).
I've got an old ACS R6 system that we replaced years ago with the newer Partner ACS. I wanted to get this old system working again. It is the 5-slot carrier with the ACS card in the center slot and a 206EC card to the left of the ACS. When I power the system up, the green light comes on on...
TTT's comment about the mail hard drive brought up a question. I know the recordings are stored on the mail card hard drive (we have Partner Mail R7) but are the AA and other mail settings stored on the hard drive also or in the ACS module? I know the ACS module has batteries, but the mail...
The Partner Messaging admin software can do a full backup of the messaging system, including all voice mails. I'm not sure if you can access the voice mails individually from the backup, though, this may only serve to restore the messaging system and not be an archive system.
thread688-1545314 has my question in it, about automating the night service button. The AA is setup for day/night based on a schedule, but I'd like to get the night service function to activate based on that same schedule so the night service group will kick in automatically. TouchToneTommy...
We have an R8 processor and a 308 module in slot 1 of the 5-slot carrier (and a R7 messaging module in slot 2) and the RAC card works fine (the RAC card is in slot 1 of the processor and slot 2 is empty). We originally had a G1 RAC card and it had that bad modem problem, but we replaced it with...
Yes, I forgot about the ASA card. Here is another thought, can a system have both the Messaging module and the Voice Messaging PC card? We have the PC card left from the old system, and it doesn't have the transfer options, so if I could setup the PC card to handle that outgoing line and the...
The message does mention that this is an outgoing only number and gives the correct number to call. As I mentioned, they can't get anywhere pressing 0, but they can get to an extension with *8 or *2, and there doesn't seem to be a way to prevent that.
I thought about setting up call forwarding to do what you suggested, but I don't want people to be using that number to call us for the same reason you mentioned, if several people call that number, they will get a busy signal because of the hunt group setup. I figure the best option is to...
I got hold of a 12G4 R6 RAC card. I put it into our old R3 system first to use up the update so it wouldn't downgrade our R8 system (added bonus, now our R3 system is an R6 system). I then put it into our R8 system and all is good, I can remote connect to port 76 and the modems connect. The...
Instead of adding a 206 card, couldn't I just swap the messaging card and the 308 card? The order would be from left: messaging, 308, ACS. Does moving the 308 and messaging card change all the extension #s?
OK, I removed the 308EC card and the RAC card worked like it should, I put the 308EC back in and I get that bad modem sound. Tried the RAC in both slots, so it seems this RAC card will not work. It's a 12G1 (1998 version). Avaya KB01091598 says the same thing, about the incompatibility...
I'm trying the external modem route. I've got the modem on ext. 25 with the data cable plugged into the admin port. I can dial ext. 25 and the modems connect, but then it times out and says session initiation failed. I looked at avaya's support and cannot find modem configuration settings...
I just changed the system over to use a general mailbox and assigned my extension as the owner. When I tested it, it turned my message light on and outcalled, so all is good. I just have to remember that I have two mailboxes assigned to my extension now, so if the light is on, I need to check...
That does seem to be the best (and only) option, so thanks for the suggestions. TT's answer about phantom mailboxes never actually getting a message makes sense, my confusion came by the fact that the Messaging PC software disables Call Answer mode when you choose the phantom setting but not...
Good suggestion about the caller ID masking, but I just called our phone service provider (Verizon) and they do not offer this option, all they can do is block the number completely so "Unavailable" shows up and that's not what I want. Seems only thieves can do ID masking.
I just created mailbox 25, which is a real (but unused) extension. I set it up for outcalling and phantom for ext. 11 (with retry interval at 5 minutes). Left a message, waited 10 minutes, nothing. Turned phantom setting off and left a message and it outcalled. Turned phantom back on and...
