Also if you don't want to make this change permanent and only need it to log in as Administrator once or periodically, you can press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice at the "friendly" login prompt you mentioned and it will toggle betwen the two login screens.
Hope that made sense.
Could you create a new batch file that points to the .bat file you want to schedule and do something like this?
echo off
start /min c:\test.bat
exit
Where c:\test.bat is your current batch file you want to execute in a minimized window.
Those three lines in a seperate batch file should...
Looks like you've accidentally invoked the stripped down version/look of Task Manager.
To revert back to normal, double-click on the outside border of the Task Manager Window and your tabs and file options, etc view should return.
Double clicking on it again will toggle bck to the other view...
This applies to Win 2000, but may be of some relevance:

It might be corrupted IE settings. You might try re-installing Internet Explorer to see if that correts the problem.
I forgot to mention how to get there in case you are unfamiliar.
Go to Start\Settings\Control Panel
From here select "Sounds and Audio Devices". This should open up the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window. This first tab is "Audio". From this tab, click on "Advanced"
Good Luck
I would first check your volume control. I've seen this happen before where I can play a DVD because the volume is up, but when I try to play an audio file, it has no sound because the "Wave" portion is muted.
I would check this first to ensure nothing is muted.
Don't know if this will help or if this is what you are looking for, but you can
Right click "My Computer" and go to "Properties"
From there go to the "Advanced" Tab. In here you will see a "Performance" area. Click "Settings"
This brings up a seperate window of "Visual Effects Tab", scroll...
Hello all,
I'm not a programmer and I do not know VB at all. I found the following script on Windows Script Center and have found it very useful. It searches a computer for all Windows hotfixes and creates a Word document with the results.
I'd like to change the script if possible and have it...
Does anyone know of a way to merge two .pst files in MS Outlook?
I'm looking to merge two .pst files without having to drag and drop the contents of each folder from one to the other. Is this possible somehow?
Also, if possible, will this merge detect duplicate messages?

Here are a few US cases involving similar situations. Denmark may be different, but in the US your employer has the right to monitor your e-mails.

According to the article you can temporarily access the logon screen by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL twice. It also gives a permanent fix.
Good Luck
Take a look at bootdisk.com and go down to the "NTFS Bootdisk"

Here is the readme file if you want to see if this is what you are looking for.

Sorry just re-read your post...it needs to be named Backup_Event.kix so that answers one of my questions, but I still get the error message:
Script error : expected expression !.
$RCODE = BackUpEventLog("Security", "C:\BACKUP.EVT")
Bcastner..I'm sorry to bother you again, but is there any chance you can explain the kix script you showed above. Once it is created in a notepad file, does it need to be renamed with the .kix file extension or can it stay as a .txt?
Also I tried running the script (as a .txt using kix32...
Thank you bcastner...this is exactly what I've been searching for. I found the third party tools you mentioned along with a couple others, but I was really wanting to script it myself.
Thanks for the link to the REXX script!
Is there anyway to use Windows task Scheduler to schedule a taks that will save an event log (specifically the Security Log) and then clear the log? If so does, anyone know how I could do it?
