When I control+alt+del the task manager will come up but the tabs at the top are gone and so is the file, options, view etc. It will not let me close the window because the x at the top right hand corner is not there. I also cannot close it by right clicking the system tray at the bottom. Anyone know how to restore the task manager settings back to normal?

Thanks for any help.

Looks like you've accidentally invoked the stripped down version/look of Task Manager.

To revert back to normal, double-click on the outside border of the Task Manager Window and your tabs and file options, etc view should return.

Double clicking on it again will toggle bck to the other view.

Hope this helps

thank a lot rmiley that worked. I should have thought of that.
