If a PC uses the "friendly" login prompt where it shows the user name along with a small picture, how do I switch it to use the standard login prompt where you type in the user name and (if set) password ?

I need to do this to log on as Administrator.

I hope you can help me.

Jay/UK

in the control panel, select user accounts

Switch to the Advanced tab

At the bottom, check the option relating to secure log on, which requires Ctrl, Alt + Delete to be used in order to log on.

I think that does it, although not 100%!

Also if you don't want to make this change permanent and only need it to log in as Administrator once or periodically, you can press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice at the "friendly" login prompt you mentioned and it will toggle betwen the two login screens.

Hope that made sense.

Thats a great tip!
