I had the same issue you had one but the cisco switch was set to channel group aka teaming which caused issues. Setting the switch port back to the default settings might help.

Plenty of tools out there to expand the drive when everything is copied over.
Google Hiren for tools to expand drive.
Use Hiren BootCD 14.1.
Boot off cd and select boot windows from harddrive.
This should work and you can disable all services via msconfig.
And reboot normally with out the hiren.
Safe bet reboot the system and check the raid card bios to see what type of raid is running.
Beside what RAID card do you have? Smart Array ??

I'm new to arcserver I have been able to set up the smtp relay and tested it out via the alert manager and I do get the test notification. But don't get the alert email when a successful backup completes even though I've setup up the alerts.

have you tried removing the device for "device manager" and then rescanning it to find the device and then restart the BE service? Cable are in snuggly?
if all else fails reboot.
Just the info. store needs to backup, right?
Or do I need to backup the systems state and the shadow copy?
btw I am running a differential back with a full backup during the weekend.
