Proliant ML 350 G4p mix different disks

Hi, I'm not sure if this thread goes here, correct me if I'm wrong.

I have this HP server with Smart array 642 controller with 6 slots for Ultra SCSI 320 drives.
I also have 4 HP 72GB disks 15k and 2 IBM 73GB 10k.
When I put them together, I cannot create RAID because I do not see IBM disks in RAID management.
When I put out HP drives, I see IBM drives and can create RAID.

Where is the trick, different RPMs or different sizes?

Maybe it only allow you to create 1 array?
