I just switched a long time customer over from POTS lines to SIP trunks. I guess I never noticed an issue because I almost always dial out using a 1+area code+number but they just brought it to my attention that they never had to dial a '1' prior to switching and wanted to see about getting back...
TouchToneTommy Thanks for the help. I ended up running the Upgrade Wizard to perform the upgrade and then uploaded the PLDS file. It worked perfectly....well, almost perfectly. Your tips worked perfectly but I guess for some reason a bin file for my lonely 1416 set didn't get installed on the...
I'm looking to see if someone can point me in the right direction. One of our customers had maxed out their IP Endpoint licenses and needed to add 3 IP licenses. Since their system is running on Rel 9.1.5, we needed to upgrade to Rel 11 in order to get the additional licenses. This is new to me...
I'm looking for some advice as to what might be causing this problem. I set up my customer's new office with 5 phones in his office and 2 remote phones (1616 phones) in his house. They work fine for a few days but then they lose their connection randomly. Each time he calls to say the house...

I think I finally figured it out. I have been working on my test system and started the hunt groups over from scratch. I tested as I went along step by step so I could find a point of failure instead of programming everything and then trying to troubleshoot it afterwards. I'll be going...
Westi...sorry about that. After reading all of the posts lately I kept thinking to myself why people don’t include the system info. I guess I’m just as guilty of it. The system is 9.1.7 (I think) and the VM is Embedded.
I've been searching for a solution and have come across several tips on what to do but it seems like I need a combination of tips and they don't appear to work together.
Here's what I'm trying to accomplish:
DAY TIME
Ring at Hunt Group "A" (5-6 rings) giving users a chance to answer the call...
Westi...I forgot to mention I already had the Trunk to Trunk Transfer enabled.
Holdmusic...I just tried this and it doesn't appear x280 ever picks up the call. It just continues to ring. After trying to dial the HG, i then tried to manually dial x280 and it worked for internal calls but still...
Janni78....I'm not sure I understand. They might be calling from their cell phones or house phones. I also forgot to mention they only have POTS lines.
Can someone help me out and point me in the right direction. A customer of mine is a small doctors office and are looking to be able to perform this in case of an emergency. They're hoping to be able to dial into their system and pick up an outside line to make external calls. I know there are...
I'm not sure if this is the same issue I'm dealing with but I had 2 D160 handsets working on my system and everything was working fine. A few days ago we needed to change the IP addresses being used and now I just get "no service" on the phones. I've factory defaulted the base unit and then...
gknight1 - I did run the "run ipoffice verbose" command prior to stacking them. I'll have to try again on Monday to see if I can stack them first and then run the command. I know I'm getting off subject now but do you happen to know if there is anything special I should do with they're other 2...

I have the switches correct and also wired them correctly. I also found the steps to put them in stacking mode. I even checked by accessing the switch using the IP address associated with the switch and it also shows it is in stacking mode but I can't get any phones to connect if they...
Thanks gkinght1!!!!
I set my laptop statically and then put the IPO address in the unit box and it came right up. That was a nice quick fix.
Thanks again. Now I need to figure out why my switches won't stack. I set them both to "stacking" but they still aren't working. That can be a problem...
This is a new install and getting ready to go live soon. I'm not sure if I'm missing something simple or not.
This what I have.
IPOffice system is set to 192.168.42.222
I ran the setup script on the Avaya 3524GT switches and set the VLan for voice and data to 42 & 44 respectively.
The phones...
I asked the person that has the most knowledge of their network and indeed they do not have a firewall. They don't have an IT person on staff and the guy taking care of the network is the same guy who cuts the checks at the end of the day. I might have to see about pushing them to get one before...
gknight1...
Thanks for the link. If I'm reading it right, does this sound correct..
Voice VLAN - 42
Voice VLAN Gateway - IP Address of what I want to set the Avaya 3524GT switch to.. 10.0.42.254
Voice VLAN Gateway IP Mask - 255.255.255.0
Data VLAN - "0" since this is what their network already...
I have a question about setting up these new switches on my customer's network. I came from the Avaya Partner and Nortel Norstar world. This is the first IPO system I'm installing and everything was going good in my office while programming the new IPO system. I was planning on using the...
