Use Layers effectively in InDesign and here is where they really come in handy.
Select your Master Page in the Pages panel and then open the Layers panel. Make a new Layer on top of the layer (or layers) that everything else is on. Rename the layer "Master Page Items."...

I have automatic page numbering on in InDesign.
However, the page numbers are falling behind all the art and colored boxes on the actual pages? You can not grab them to bring to front and art is already sent to the back? Any ideas???

I am having problems using Quark 7 and outputting PDF Files. The type and graphics are coming out bitmapped. However if I open it up in Acrobat and output is then it is fine? Is there any type of filters or something that would help me?

Open up grayscale image.
Go to Image > Mode > Convert to Profile
Destination Space > Custom CMYK
Black Generation > Maximum
This will change doc mode to CMYK and put into black channel only.

Do not use Quark attributes for fonts. Go into the font palete and replace all your Helvetica (bold) for a real Helvetica Bold font. Then you should be fine.

Silly question....How do you unlock a text frame? When I go to move this item it says "the selected object(s) are locked and can not be transformed". Although, my layer is not locked.
