Starting over the weekend we've started receiving complaints that internal mail messages are taking much longer to be sent.
We have a total 4 mailbox servers and one front-end server.
We don't believe any of us made changes to the servers leading up to this. We are seeing messages queuing up...
Thanks, I don't have any problems when working with the web interface, when I can work with the web interface, it's when I actually want to sit in front of the blade center with a keyboard, mouse and monitor.
I hadn't seen the demo before, but I had reviewed the user guide.
Thanks though!
JB
I'm pretty well experienced with the Blade Ceenters but we just got our first one with the "Advanced Management Module" This is the one with the USB interface instead of the PS2 ports. When I power up the blade the leds on the keyboard blink, either in unison or sequentially. I've figured out...
I recent installed a replacement server for a customer and since they had installed a Compaq SDLT 320 drive in their old server I transfered the tape drive to the new server.
The new server is a Dell PE 2900 with a SCSI card just for the tape drive, winning Win2k3 SBS R2. We're using Backup...
I've had the question posed to me regarding MOM, but I'm not a MOM expert...
What will happen to the alerts/info coming from a monitored server if the time on that machine is changed. I don't quite understand why, but apparently it is something this person does a lot for testing.
My...
Is it possible to hide some or all domains from the browse list?
Say you have a root forest domain of company.com and two child domains of foo.company.com and bar.company.com Is it possible to keep users in the foo domain from seeing that the bar domain exists when they go to a browse list...
I'm not sure what the guys on the other end changed, but I let them look at our configuration and I suspect they found something that wasn't matching.
I guess that's the hardest part about creatinga VPN between devices of different brands: the fact the different manufacturers refer to the...
The one thing that stands out in that list is the installation /reinstallation of the agent. I have not tried removing the existing agent...
I've been bookmarking the Veritas technotes so that when I do call them, I can say "yep, tried that one" as appropriate.
We have a maintenance window...
When I connect via IP address, the Exchange resources aren't even listed.. So I guess I'm not sure what that is telling me. Veritas' advice to use the account that Exchange is running as isn't very helpful since it runs as "local system". The administrator AND the buservice account I created...
Interesting... No execAdmin account. The folks who set up this Exchange server, which I realize now I neglected to mention is in a different forest from the one the media server is in, also made the Exchange server a domain controller. So there is no local admin. I have tried creating a new...
That's a very interesting tool. I'm wondering if I haven't found a limitation to it though... I have a backup set (one drive on one machine) that has 212000 files... when I look at the results of catdump, the results just stop somewhere along the way...
It outputted 68074 lines (after the...
Oops, I just found this thread after posting mine a little while ago, but unfortunately the suggestions here didn't help me.
The Exmerge user made sense though! I really would have thought it would work!
Perhaps, I just need to give Exchange and AD a little time to just settle down from the...
I know there have been other threads about this but I still can't backup the mailboxes.
I could back up the mailboxes until, for purposes of a Hosted Exchange Service, the default Global Address book was removed.
The admin account I'm using has an email box, the box has been initialized, and...
I'm stuck... I have a customer with a Cisco 3005 VPN Concentrator. I don't deal with these very often, if ever. I was able to create an IPSEC Lan-to-Lan tunnel, and the tunnel seems to work... that is as long as there is nearly constant traffic on it... It won't stay up more than 90 seconds...
Of course, the client adds a twist... Since the rule is that as long as it is in the same forest we are all good...
So it shouldn't matter if it is a child domain of the forest root domain, or if it is root domain in the same forest.
Is that statement valid??
Thanks!
JB
I have a client who is insisting that he wants to have a forest root domain, several child domains, a *single* exchange server, and seemless, single authentication in outlook and Windows.
I've tried googling, but all I seem to come up with is the "Hosted Exchange" model. I know that isn't what...
I have a question along the same vein, is it possible to turn an existing windows server with SQL installed into a cluster. Let's assume that the storage is already on a SAN.
Thanks!
