You could try a pci video card, also have a close look at your
motherboard capacitors and look for any distortion don't want to appear negative but wouldnt be the first Epox board to go down with bad caps
The stock intel cooler has push pins and is easy to replace
If you buy a after market cooler some of the lager ones have a back plate this means removing the motherboard
mrwells I dont think two gig of ram is going to do it for you but I hope it does .Crysis is a great game but would have to be the most demanding game on the market to date if you manage to get it to run on your pc it would not very playable.I have spent a lot of time tinkering with this game in...
Tony just recently discovered that Samsung use some
Chemei panels with their SyncMaster series
for example my model number is 940BW [R] C
C being for Chemie S for Samsung I have had a
horrour run with a Polyview V398 (Chemei panel)
and have vowed never to buy another which as
it would seem is...
Perhaps an 8800gtx(640mb)
most DX9 games like BF2 BF2142 WOW are base tested on nvidia 6 series vid cards so they preform very well with 8 series cards on high settings
Think you might have to consider a new vid card
don't believe there would be any ddr2 motherboards
that support agp
MadDog psu is a 20 pin atx most new motherboards require
24 pin atx 2.0 power supply
I think your best option would be to purchase second hand
agp board most of your hardware is...
1 gig of ram is not enough for current games so maybe some more ram and a X2 cpu and you would have a good gaming pc another option is to raid your current drive with a new drive you would also gain more storage
Most of the stock 8800 series cards are the same most use the standard Nvidia reference cooler design although Sparkle have a dual fan option
I chose XFX because of their double life time warranty(most countrys not Aus) but you have to register the card within 30 days of the purchase date
Hey Wahnula would of thought rubbing out scratches with wet and dry sand paper (with water) starting with say 300 grit finishing with 1000 and then may be some auto polish I know this works with perspex and acrylic surfaces
ps hope ya well now dude
tzones my first thoughts were some earlier Del pcs used proprietary power supplys not industry standard these being designed for Del motherboards only different wiring on the 20 pin connector
Good work getting your system up and running just the same... but it might be wise to shut down until...
If both mobos have same chipset you might get lucky
You could strip back drivers on current instal to generic windows drivers then swap out motherboards reboot and load new drivers you will have to reactivate, windows will detect to many changes(about half way though instaling new drivers)...
(that's got a little more horsepower.}
Intel appear to be winning the horsepower race at the moment with a leg in the air so a intel system
that supports quad core for future upgrades seems to be the choice of hard core enthusiasts.
But if it is just a little more horse the 5600+ works
well...
Perhaps on the next reboot you could check the temps in the bios 1800+ cpus particularly palomino cores run very hot a hsf refit with new thermal paste would eliminate heat as possible problem
