I want to set up a box that forces the user to accept terms before loggin onto a XP machine. I have a Windows 2003 server. When the user hits ctl-alt-del I want this acceptance box to pop up asking them to agree to some terms before logging on. How can I do this?

So far what I have learned from Vista in the Run As command is that it runs as Administrator. How do I change that to choose credentials I want...i.e Network credentials? I am sure it is something I have overlooked.

Anyone have any hints or links to sites that can help explain how to demote an NT4 PDC and NT4 BDC and promote the Windows 2003 server to DC? I want to preserve all the user accounts on the old servers and migrate them to the new one. But I am a bit rusty at this and need some advice or links...
We are using a BES. Just upgraded to 4.1 and the issue still follows. It happens with thei particular admin. None of the other BB users have said they have issues. It removes it from his bb calendar and his outlook.

I have a user that "loses" a calendar appointment when updated. The upointment gets updated from one of his admins, however it dissapears from his device. It only happens when this one admin updates his appointment. He has had several different blackberry devices, and 2 vendors (cingular and...
Now someone correct me if I am wrong, but with Windows XP you can only have 1 RDP session running at at time. If you need multiple sessions, MS would recommend Terminal Server which comes with 5 Client Access Licenses built in. I think there is some cheaper software out there, but I don't know...
Yes, I have tried that update. Still cannot get to the machine. I can ping it, and from time to time I can take it over. But most of the time I cant.

This has XP drivers for a similar notebook which uses nearly the same hardware. Try the drivers off this site and let me know if it helps.

We have several machines here that are running Windows XP 64-bit. Those machines seem problematic at times. Here are the issues.
1) RDP only works 1/3 of the time. When we do get connected, we tend to get kicked out (RDP from XP-32 to XP-64)
2) Cannot Remote manage (compmgmt.msc) from time to...
This happens when I do a SHIFT+Right Click on what I need to use with elevated rights. The Run As is listed. However when you click on it, it never comes up with a box to input those elevated rights.

Hello. When trying to use the "Run As" function in Vista for running programs as domain admin it will not come up and ask me for my credentials. It just runs the program which then errors out because of rights. Can anyone help?

I have 2 gigabyte 6600GT cards (GV-NX66T128D). These cards are Identical in every way, expet one does not seem to support SLI. It has the SLI connection, but I cannot get SLI enabled. The one without SLI support seems to have an older BIOS. Would updating the BIOS enable SLI? It really meakes no...
Have you updated the handheld itself to Firmware version 4? You can also do a complete uninstall and re-install of the desktop manager.

Unfortunatly I cannot afford a Radeon 9800 at this time. I will purchase a new card (X800)at the end of summer. I am just looking for some thoughts on how well a Quadro 4 900XGL 128 Meg card would perform in games.

How well would this card work for Video Gaming? Lets say compared to like an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro or NVIDIA FX 5900? I have an opportunity to get one, but if it is not good at gaming what would be the use? I know it works great for AudoCAD and other workstation graphics. Any thoughts.

bcastner,
I agree with you and several other posters on this. we should stay put. I can tell you the PC Deployment team (Which consists of myself and one other person) has voiced this concern. We should stay put. I can tell you that is not what we are going to do. The decision has been reached...
We do have a MSDN Subscription. I know we will evaluate the RC when it arrives. As for licensing and being forced to move to new OS's, I agree it may not be MS's policy, it may be our own policy. As I have stated I do not have a say in that. I am just trying to evaluate our hardware needs, and...
I not 100% clear on how we utilize the policies either, we have software licensing specialist for that. I was under the impression that, because of our agreement, we are required to change shortly after an OS release. Oh well, not my job to know I guess.
From what I have been told, we will...
Users do not have a say in what OS they use. Since we utilize Microsoft's Volume Licensing and Corporate licensing, we will more than likely be required to go to Longhorn once it is released. I am fine with XP w/SP2. But it is not my decision. I can only make my recommendation.

bcaster,
I wish it was that simple. I work for an Aerospace company with over 1500 users. 900+ of those users have machines that should do fine, however it is those 600+ I am concerned about. We live in a time when companies tighten up and budgets shrink by the minute. I would like to replace...
