    Vonage Connection?

It's not a Vonage specific issue, the hardware I'm using doesn't support it, which I why I wanted to bypass the IP --> Analog --> IP conversion.

    Vonage Connection?

Has anyone tried to use a Vonage line to get PSTN connectivity on a CallManager system? More to the point, has anyone got it to work? If not Vonage, then what about any other VOIP providers? I currently have my Vonage line hooked up through an FXO port, but it is on a VERY old MC3810 and does...

Which table are the user details stored in?

That information is not stored in a SQL table. It's stored in the DC Directory LDAP database.

    Recommend Voice Gateway

The VIC-2FXO-M1 is supported on the 2621, I was saying that the VIC2-2FXO is not supported on that platform.

    Recommend Voice Gateway

To support Caller ID you need to make sure that you have the correct FXO card. The part number should be VIC-2FXO-M1. A standard VIC-2FXO will not pass Caller ID. A VIC2-2FXO card will also support Caller ID, but it is not supported in the 2621. Also the gateway must be set up as H.323 in...

    Security and Encryption Gotchas?

I have a customer that is wanting to implement encryption of the signaling and voice streams on their IP Telephony system on the recommendation of an external auditor. I've not actually deployed a voice network with the security features activated. Are there any potential issues with doing...

Probelm with caller ID to Sprint PCS only

I used to have the same problem with sending Caller ID information to AT&T cell phones. It was because of the configuration of the gateway in CallManager. The numbering plan and IE number type were set to Cisco CallManager... by changing these to ISDN and National I resolved the issue.

    GoodLink Schedule

I have traditionally been a mobile activesync user, but just started using GoodLink instead due to a job change. On mobile activesync I had the ability to choose the hours that stuff got synched up at, but I can't seem to find the same feature in the Good software. I really don't want to be...

I have the CTU ring as well as several other "normal" ring tones (The FT-200 ones) on my site at http://www.adman.net/cisco/ringtones.

Cisco VoIP & Bogen Paging Solution

A Bogen TAMB requires an FXS port anyway, and will not work with an FXO. If you have an FXS port in the router this should work just fine, otherwise an ATA device as suggested by jpm121 will also work - this is what we use to hook up our Bogen units.

Cisco Unified Messaging. User doesn't want emails.

Do *not* create a rul to delete the emails. In a unified messaging environment the email *IS* the voicemail, if you delete one you delete the other. This was the one thing that had a kind of long learning curve for us when we deployed. People kept deleting the emails and wondering what happened...

How to display a pdf file

If you want to show the PDF as part of the page, with other contents around it you could use frames and set the source of one of the frames to the PDF file. Check out http://adman.net/resume/frames.asp for an example of how it would work. Inline frames would also work.

    CCM 5.0

I installed on an P4 desktop machine (I think it was an HP D300v). The machine had a gig of memory in it I think.

    Recording solution with a CCM

Actually it is possible to do this with versions earlier than 4.0(5), you just have to know how to activate it. Due to possible compliance issues (things like not making tones to alert callers that the call is being recorded) it is hidden by default, but there are DLLs available to activate it...

    Database help

I would strongly recommend against trying to use MS Access to run the backend database for a production website... you definitely need to look into something like MS SQL Server or mySQL. Your web host should be able to provide you with something like this at little or no extra charge. It is...

    Resetting routers

Who says they need to be periodically reset? I have a router that is handling an ATM WAN, two PRI voice trunks for inbound and outbound calling, routing between multiple subnets at the site, and as a backup call controller for the phone system that has been up for over a year without any...
