    One way transmission

Hello, Logged in this morning and listed the history file. Wondering if it's Fibre/IP daugherboard issue? Reason being is because, would I not see errors indicating problems? Don't see anything in the history file. But, what I did see was clocking messages? Was wondering if it's possible...

    One way transmission

Ok, soo... the reboot did not help! Happened again today. Anything else? Fibre/Ip daughterboards on the SSC cards to be replaced? Inclined to think it's the fibre daughter boards that need to be replaced. But, without downing the system and pulling out the card, what command/commands can...

    One way transmission

Thank you for the reply Triton101! They have moved the phones that were mentioned to the other Digital line card in another cabinet. Same problem exists. I was wondering... I've heard that in the past with the option 11c PBX's, as with pc's, if weird quirky things start happening, give it a...

    One way transmission

Thank you for the reply Jenaya, Yes they are definately SSC cards in each cabinet. Originally that's what I thought about the issue as well. Ie - DSP's, MGC cards. But that's not the case. They are definately SSC cards in the slots connected by Fibre. Thank you anyway though! Greg.

    One way transmission

Hi there, I am working on an option 11c/cs1000. It Has 3 cabinets that are chasis style and 1 cabinet that is an option 11 cabinet. Software is 4.5. Cabinets are connected through fibre. Each cabinet has a ssc card in it instead of a fibre receiver card in it that the fibre connects to...

Voip but need to dial into systems/Raz Server - need to hear dial tone

I already have logmein. Thats what we use when we log into the RAS Server. The modem is on the RAS server. It works great, but, I can't hear the dial tone, or busy tone, or reorder tone on the modem as it is on the RAS server and not my laptop. I need to hear what is going on with the modem...

Voip but need to dial into systems/Raz Server - need to hear dial tone

Hello, I have an issue. That is... 1 - I am thinking about going VOIP for my home phone. Possibly Majic Jack. The reason is, is because it will save me approx $700 per year as apposed to my regular POTS line. The only problem is... with my work. I am a telecom tech and am required to...

    SYSLOAD to reset telephones?

When the switch comes backup up after the power outage, does it now do the download (fdl) to the phones as part of it's procedure when coming up? If not then I think you can do a command (might have to include it in the midnight routines?) to do an FDL (full download) to the phones over night...

Polycom disconnecting calls - Correct procedure?

Thanks Allenmac. No there is is just a regular 2008 plugged into this polycom unit (box we'll say), then from the box, goes to the wall jack. With of course the power portion of the unit that plugs into the wall. Greg.

Polycom disconnecting calls - Correct procedure?

Thanks John. The 2008 (sitting beside and connected to the Polycom) works when conferencing. Just can't do it through the Polycom itself. Greg.

Polycom disconnecting calls - Correct procedure?

Hi there, This may sound stupid but, can't get it to work. I was at a location doing a MAC and the contact asked me to have a look at this conferencing problem. She had lost the user guide and can't get a conference to work. Apparently it had been working recently and don't suspect any...

Looking for a course.. IP fundamentals

Hi, I have been working on the Option switches for a few years now, but, have no Certifications. I probably should start (Maybe or maybe not depending on who buys the Enterprise division and what they are going to do with the product), but when looking up on the Nortel website, and following...

Nortel PBX market share in Canada

Hi, Does anyone know what Nortel's PBX market share is in Canada? or know where I can find it out? I know (or at least I think I know, or was told at some point?) their PBX market share was approx 75% of the market share. I don't know or think this is still correct. Surely not going...

To continue on Nortel training path?

Hi there, Just thought I'd get people's opinions about this... Do I continue on the Nortel training path with what is going on? Whoever buys the Enterprise Division... are they going to keep the product alive? Are they going to migrate it into their own product with their own programing...

Migrating from a Siemens 9005 to an Option 61C

I hear ya! I used to work on the Rolm switches too and what a difference! It baffles me that with the Nortel switch you can't forward just the line on the phone. The whole phone and lines on it forwards. Unreal they can't do it! for such a simple thing! that you take for granted in the...

    Nortel SCS (Software Communication System)

What does everyone think about the Nortel SCS (Software Communication System)? It looks like it's excellent! And there's nothing like it apparently. ie - truly "open" and all in one package ie - no extra licenses etc. Now - the question will be... with Nortel and all... what the heck is...
