Hello--Everytime our Option 11 switch looses power, some of the telephones (M3903) loose some of their functions. EX: The message key does not work, the display is missing DN numbers, some of the hot keys are blank. The problem is easily resolved by disconnecting the set form the wall and reconnecting it. I asked our vendor and he said that a SYSLOAD will fix the problem. Does that make sense, and if so, how do you perform a SYSLOAD? Thank you for any help provided.

Technically a Sysload is just a cold boot.

Your vendor may have been trying to refer to a software re-load where the system software is re-loaded onto the SSC card.

if u have a ssc processor, power down and then back up.

If u have a cppm press the reset button.

When the switch comes backup up after the power outage, does it now do the download (fdl) to the phones as part of it's procedure when coming up? If not then I think you can do a command (might have to include it in the midnight routines?) to do an FDL (full download) to the phones over night every night?

Just a suggestion.

Greg.

A Sysload sounds like an awful big thing to do when you might have something else happening that causes this problem (aka, using a shotgun to take out a horsefly). Are you on current patches on your system? Due to UPS units and generators I don't often lose power to my multicabinet Option 11c systems with 3900 sets, and other than needing to reboot individual phones once in a great while I don't ever remember losing functions, etc., after a power outage/sysload.

Every time your system loses power, it SYSLOADs

A couple of good answers to help out. Maybe a couple of other things to ponder: Why does your Option 11 lose power? Has anyone tried to rectify that situation? Check the grounding, as many problems can arise from an improper ground. Building steel is not an isolated ground... seriously!

Thank you all for the excellent suggestions. The Option 11 looses power to no fault of its own. We are located in an area where several office buildings are going up. Some ding bat will cut the power to our building at least once per month. I have a battery backup but sometimes it is exhausted before I get the power back.
