Hey all, I've been out of telecom for about 5 years and have forgotten more then I'd like to admit.
I've got a parts desk job now and we've got a mitel setup. Not sure what the controller is, but the sets are 5330's. It's a small shop, 4 parts taker sets and a couple sales extensions. The...
Hi, I've just installed a NCP500 and a TVM50. I have a free DLC8 and I am racking my brain on how to connect 1-6-1 (the dlc8 card) to the TVM50.
I understand that pins 3 & 6 on the ksu are t/r and on the tvm50 2 & 3 should be as well.
When I go into programming I get a "Fault" on ext 117...
I have LAN'd up a few houses over the last weeks and am getting call backs for no connectivity on the hardwired lan.
Using a lan tester I am discovering that many of the crimps I have made are botched. There is no pattern, just random wires not getting crimped.
I had no problem before so I...
Hey all, had a 5220 bite the dust on ext 110. I am trying to get another 5220 to take on the attributes of the previous phone but I can't figure out how to do it. I believe that I need to change the old MAC address to the new MAC address of the replacement set, but I can't find the form to...
Our phone guy put in this great little terminal block that took the main line from the CO and allowed us to attach several single line phones in the house.
Too get a better picture of what I'm talking about, it would be the same as if you took the CO and the extensions and just attached all the...
Right! So the PBX generates these for me? Ok I'll have to fire up the test machine here and see what it wants.
I can see this being a HUGE time saver.
Thanks again!!
Hi, somewhere I read that the 3300 can have its programming done via "work sheets".
Is this so?
If so would they be a .CSV file that is uploaded to the system?
I have been extracting buckets of info from the ole 200 for the VAR we are going work with and if I can save him a few steps that...
Hi, I am working with a VAR that is not local, and trying to give him as much info as possible about our old SX-200 in prep to switchover to a 3300
In describing the MoH at our office, I use a computer sound card that plugs into a little box on the wall that is about 3 inches square, and has a...
Hey all, I've got a person in COR1 that when someone calls him it shows his DID. When he picks up the phone then it will show the caller ID.
In my COR15, I see the calling party's CID before I pick up the phone.
So I'm lead to be there is something that needs to be changed in the COR of...
Hi, On my work system, if I do a direct page, dial the extension, it will make the extension ring once and then you can speak.
On my home system however, if i do the same operations as above, it will make a tone noise instead of a ring.
I can't figure out where to change this. Any ideas?
Thanks
DING! that makes sense now! I barely remember what ARS settings you guys help me out with on my home test system, but the work system has ARS COR's such as no 911 on fax machines etc.
This completely clears up any confusion i had with COS/COR COS is exactly what it means.
Thank you muchly!!!
Recently i've been bombing the shop with 4025's on a mission to terminate all 4001's.
To give me idea's, I've asked the people who get the sets to play with te superkey and ask if they can have that feature, how does it work etc. In some cases, I've found that some commands might not be so...
Hi, I/we are not sure what gear you are running but i'll assume a 200-SX. You need what they call a "phantom". This is usually a card programmed into the system but does not actually function. You may already a phantom card programmed in.
Get a dump of all the bay/slot/ccts. If you see a...
I have always liked the way the TIDs are presented and was wondering what novell uses to make them.
Is it some kind of website or a standard form?
Any info would be most appreciated.
Jim
Ok if you have the "bays" all punched down and the bix block mounted on the wall then you can think of it like this.
BAY SLOT CIRCUIT
These 3 factors determine the "PLID" (Pysical Location Identification).
The "bay" is the cabinet where the amphenol connector comes from.
The "Slot" is where...
