Hi thanks for the help.
I think the phone has been locked down. Somewhere back there I think it was said there was a procedure to unlock the phone and allow the settings to be changed.
Good day
I have a 4620 phone which comes up when it is plugged into power with "Extension Error" or "Extn Error" and then you have to put in its extension number. It is apparently locked down so a reset won't allow the number that is already in it to be programmed (the message * to program...
Good day.
We are having occasional problems with our incoming call trunks which have a tendency to "drop out" from time to time so that the number of channels available for calls is reduced.
The information about the Digital Trunks is that the Line Type is BRI and the Line Subtype is ETSI...
we have
option 176 MCIPADD=172.17.0.50,MCPORT=1719,TFTPSRVR=172.17.0.50,PROCSTAT=0,PROCPSWD="27238"
option 242

the extra bits useful if your phones have been locked down by a previous config
Obvious one if not mentioned already
Digitals need dedicated wires to be connected back to the PBX (just like analogue)
IP phones can be plugged into any old network switch just as long as there is a connection somewhere from that network to the PBX.
We are running 10 IP phones on a wireless...
As you may have known from previous threads we used to get a lot of crashes of our system and embedded VM used to stop working.
A BP came out and put in the newest release of IP Office 5.0 (18) and since then we have had 12 problem free weeks without any crashes and the email works just fine...
Good day,
We have just picked up a 5620 and a 4620 for our site and they are both giving me Finding Router as soon as they are plugged in and then Bad Router after trying for a long time.
There is a DHCP server that should be giving these phones an address automatically (it gives the phone on...
Hi, we have the same problem twice a year, local time changes and the IP500 is set to a Windows DC that is supposed to give it the time and it doesn't change the time.
I have just read in the Help how to program a phone button to let me set the time from a phone, but it is only supported on...
16xx phones can't set the system time manually. (I just discovered in the Manager Help file that I can set up a button on my phone to change the system time because the time server setting doesn't do anything... LOL ... but its not supported on 16xx phones)
Manually Setting the System Time...
56xx phones have display based button labelling. So much better than 16xx where you have to write on a paper label and stick it on the phone. (Actually my phone is a 4620 rather than a 56xx equivalent but the same applies, it is so much nicer than a 1616 with LEDs next to the buttons that you...
Just tried this out, I am interested that the password is different from the one we use to login with Manager and how does it get changed anyway?
Another star because it works, now I have asked our BP if they are happy with programming to reboot it every couple of days so the email server keeps...
Good afternoon,
FileWriteNotAllowed is the message I get when I try to use either IP Office Manager or TFTP to upload a file to the CF card in an IPOffice 500.
We have a techie sitting here right now trying to do some maintenance and he can't figure it out either. What does this message mean...
This is a digital phone isn't it?
And excuse my ignorance, but the system is supposed to auto create these extensions? like it auto creates a analog extension when it plugs into the analog port?
and if it doesn't auto create there must be some problem?
Groups are assigned to named users so...
G just means he is a member of a hunt group. I don't know that has any significance.
Create a new extension 4375 if one doesn't exist, maybe someone deleted it by mistake ???
and another way you can force a phone off the network is
- Delete its extension in Manager
- Turn off extension autocreate.
Then it comes up
"Avaya 4620 Phone
Please enter new extension number
