We have a new opportunity approaching and, if I read Avaya right, the 5610 phones will be going away in the not too distant future. It's not that I've heard anything, but they're in the mood to consolidate products. We really haven't used the 1600 series yet. Should we leap to the 'new' phones or enjoy the auto labeling for a while more?
Mike

Me too, having rdp options to the showroom now.
Playing with a 9650 vpn phone now and calling to a softphone at that showroom :)

I like those 9600 series very much!

56xx phones have display based button labelling. So much better than 16xx where you have to write on a paper label and stick it on the phone. (Actually my phone is a 4620 rather than a 56xx equivalent but the same applies, it is so much nicer than a 1616 with LEDs next to the buttons that you have to work out what they mean)

16xx phones can't set the system time manually. (I just discovered in the Manager Help file that I can set up a button on my phone to change the system time because the time server setting doesn't do anything... LOL ... but its not supported on 16xx phones)

Manually Setting the System Time

For IP Office systems without access to a time server, a number of methods to manually set the system time exist. These are available in the IP Office 4.1+. The following method is only supported on these phones: 2410, 2420, 4412, 4424, 4612, 4624, 4610, 4620, 4621, 5410, 5420, 5610, 5620, 5621, 6412, 6424. It is supported on any analog, T3, T3 IP or wireless (IP DECT, 3600, 3700 Series) phones.

The 1600 where not even working on 4.1 so that is why they do not appear in your help :)
It is supported to change the time on a 1608 or 1616.

No offense, but read up on what you are talking about rather than trashing it and then looking stupid.

Get well soon Aaron.

Before you flame him too much just because it mentions 4.1+ doesn't mean it's a 4.1 help file, see below from R6:

· Note: If the IP Office system that is still configured for automatic time updates (on by default), any manually set time and date will be overridden on the next automatic update. The use of automatic updates can be disabled by setting the System | System | Time Server IP Address to 0.0.0.1.

Still no mention of 16XX :)
