IS-IT--Management
Good day.
We are having occasional problems with our incoming call trunks which have a tendency to "drop out" from time to time so that the number of channels available for calls is reduced.
The information about the Digital Trunks is that the Line Type is BRI and the Line Subtype is ETSI. Each of 2 Trunks has 2 Channels available. These are both in Slot 1 of the IP Office 500 respectively on Ports 1 and 2.
The trunks come into our premises via "LTUs" which are little white boxes supplied by the phone company (Telstra NZ) and these have on them lights, including a sync light which apparently is known at times to go off indicating there is a problem with the LTU or some sort of line conditions that have caused the line to "drop out". Invariably the phone company or our BP will instruct us to powercycle the LTU to see if there is a transient lockup that is the first option for trying to get the trunk back online.
If I was attempting to determine where there is a problem from the Monitor application with its built in logging capability, what type of Trace Events would I be looking for when configuring what is being logged?
Thanks
