Thanks Paul,
I've been tackling this most of the day and its mentally taxing me as what to do. I'm pretty much the new guy in the office started about a month or so ago and some of the things are just a bit goofy to me. As you see if you read my other post :)
Thanks again.

Not quite what I had in mind was hoping for some articles or white papers to describe or discuss what types of pages you secure. Best practices type of thing, is it good to secure pages such as informational, or transactional type of thing.
Right now my organization has me encrypting pages...
Howdy,
I've been tasked with getting SSL setup on our website. It is all set to go but I'm not sure about how best to implement it. They want to use a shotgun approach and just SSL a few of the sites they think should be secure. I am not exactly sure if this is the best option or not. I was...
If the user is on a domain, and they're using domain logins for both pages you can change a setting in IE. Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Select Local Intranet and select custom level.
Scroll the the bottom and select Automatic Logon with Current User ID and password...
Thanks again for the suggestions.
I'm kind of stuck with what to do at the moment. I've been looking at our IIS and it just does not seem to be setup in the best possible way. Its been copied over from an older IIS 5.0 possibly even 4, to IIS 6.0. I was wondering if you or anyone else could...
Currently they're the same server.
Which is not on AD :P
I don't believe there will be any senstive data on this as it is basically a content management tool, so that our users can update their own websites.

I'm still not 100% sure which way I want to go with this. I was kind of hoping that I could have the admin section on the main webserver (which is a public one). Although now that I think about this as long as both applications the public side, and the admin side are pointing to the same SQL...
Thanks, WKK
We managed to get it working, I was trying to replicate an issue for testing based off our main webserver. Well I think the major issue I was having was trying to create a self authenticated certificate and getting it to work. But that said the issue that prompted me to do that has...
Howdy,
I am trying to work on an intranet application, and an Admin application which will authenticate to active directory. However I just found out that our webserver is not linked up to active directory, and it is not on our domain. The only reason from what I have been able to gather is for...
Well I wouldn't want to go against standard OO convention. Which is what I was wondering to begin with, but I am using a dataset, and need to get the file/server path to save it as an xml. So I'm just reading an XSD file to get the dataset structure then resaving the resulting xml. Or would...
Not exactly sure what you're trying to do but you might be able to use a dataset to read your XML Schema. Then put the data in the dataset and save the xml file.

Howdy,
Trying to get Server.MapPath in a class file, I'm using VS2005 and not exactly sure what namespace I'm supposed to import. Any ideas? :)
Thanks,
Owen

Thanks,
I should have known that there would be one for that on his page.
I have gone through the setup of this and I am still having an issue. On our main server we're thinking our port 443 is blocked. Until that is unblocked I don't know for sure if it is working correctly or not.
However...
Howdy,
I have been tasked with setting up SSL in IIS 6.0 and was curious if there are any tutorials or helpful websites out there. We're having an issue with it and displaying correctly, I'm thinking it might be a port issue but it has been forever since I've messed with SSL.
Thanks,
Owen...
Howdy,
I'm working on an RSS Reader and I'm having a small issue.
I have a form, and on the form load event I have.
dim ds as dataset
ds.ReadXml("http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss")
Every time I run it is giving me a
An unhandled exception of type 'System.NullReferenceException'...
Hmm... why is it no good?
Shortly after posting this I managed to get most of it to work for me so far, but I am having an issue. Primarily because I am not that good yet, but trying to load the database info into an object to display it.
The one you posted shows a lot of functionality but...
