For info in case anyone else experiences this problem our fix was to make changes in LD56 - flexible tones and cadences.
I don't know exactly what was changed, but our support guy spoke with Nortel and they suggested various settings to change.
Firebird scrambler, in what way was the data switch not configured correctly?
We are having a similar problem with a newly installed rls 6 and upgraded opt.11s media gateways off the new CS1K.
An analogue extension will suddenly lose dialtone and instead just give a "beep" which is in fact the...
Hi.
We have just received another batch of I2002 phones.
However, the external power requirements for these are 48VDC, all the other I2002 phones we have are 16VAC.
Has Nortel changed the power requirements as the phones are identical in every other respect.
It seems crazy to have two identical...
We had this + it was due to an extension on the remote site having been deleted, but it's mailbox on the main site was still active.
Everytime mail tried to update the MWIs it threw this error as the set didn't exist on the remote site.
Hi.
I had the same problem a while back + logged a call with BT, our tech support here in the UK.
The answer that came back was that it was not possible to have the TN settings saved as default for every user.
Each new person who logs on to the PC for the first time will have to enter the TN...
Its set in ATT_DATA in LD15/21
CHG in 15, PRT in 21.
PRT/CHG
TYPE: ATT
ATDN: xxxx
With no console, the system is in permanent nite-service.
This is also set in LD15/21 but in NIT_DATA
PRT/CHG
TYPE: NIT
NIT1: xxxx
Hope this helps
Dave.
There are several ways of doing this.
If you have a sig. server, you can use Element Manager to produce a list, or you can log directly into the sig. server + use the command isetShowByTN or isetShowByIP to produce a list ordered by either TN or IP address.
This can be captured to a file + then...
OVL429 - Overlay memory space in use.
This normally occurs when someone else is logged in to the switch with the same or a connected LD open.
When you log into the switch, it should tell you if anyone else is logged in.
Alternatively, type "who" at the > prompt to see who else is logged in.

Hi.
Does anyone know if there is a cordless IP phone available that will work with Nortel Succesion 4?
That is, a cordless handset, with a base station connected via an IP network as opposed to standard phone wiring. Nortel don't seem to make one + I'm unsure whether another manufacturers one...
Sorry, slight error with previous post!
If the number is restricted the phone will display ---- instead of the number.
If the name is restricted the phone will display XXXX instead of the name.
If the calling phone has number restricted in class of service, the phone will display XXXX instead of the number.
Present/Restrict calling number - DDGD/A
Present/Restrict calling name - NAMD/A
Dave.
Thanks, John.
That sorted it.
It's now logging SEERs again.
Took about 15-20mins to fully come back up into operation - got me worried at one point!!!
Cheers
Dave.
Thanks, John.
I'll have to time the reboot carefully, out of hours if possible, as it front-ends our main number with a voice menu.
I presume it takes a while to come back up too.
Is there a reset button on the mail card?
It's a 12port card option, by the way.
Cheers
Dave.
Hi.
We have Meridian Mail Rls13 which has suddenly stopped logging SEERs.
It appeared to stop when disk space dropped very low, but after some housekeeping deleting unused mailboxes etc. the disk space is back to what it used to be, but SEER logging has not restarted.
Anyone any ideas?
I have...
Hi.
I have just upgraded from D88 to D98 firmware in an attempt to fix the DHCP problem that we had been experiencing.
I am now getting the problems reported by MrPederman above, but cannot find the D9C firmware to correct this.
Any ideas where I can find it?
I have searched the Nortel site but...
