When IT gurus become managers and don't

I love the corporate world. How can I stay out of the politics w/o being thrown under the bus?

When IT gurus become managers and don't

I have a situation at my current employment that has quite frankly infuriated me. Our Director of IT is a great guy, absolute genius when it comes to troubleshooting. However we have grown to have 5 people in the department. The first four (including me) are hard workers keep our head down...

    Business Casual

I wish dress code was the sticking point for my job. That seems so trivial. Try having to keep a sterile work area (ie. Nothing but one pen and a small notepad issued by the company and MAYBE a water bottle) to impress guest that come along about one day a month. Try having a job that doesn’t...

    I.T. Management Question(s)

AT my last two jobs the website was viewed as a marketing tool and therefore fell under their relm. Webmasters, graphic artist, and all fell under Marketing . . . Server upkeep fell under IT. As far as the other issues are concerned, I agree with Trevoke. You have to be very very very...

    Capture DNIS Calls

So if I understand what you are saying Iretrievers, the DNIS stays with the number even after being funneled through one CDN? Therefore; allowing us to use the DNIS to route after being forwarded by the CDN?

    Capture DNIS Calls

That was my backup plan. I was hoping there was an easier method.

    Capture DNIS Calls

I have added the following lines to my Main Script: /*WHERE DNIS EQUALS VALUE 1053 : EXECUTE SCRIPT Help_Desk_app END WHERE*/ IF DNIS = 1053 Then EXECUTE SCRIPT Help_Desk_app END IF Obviously the first one has been commented out. I have tried both methods. Also, Help_Desk_app is a...

    Capture DNIS Calls

We have traditionally used CDNs in our Symposium. We recently ordered some new toll free lines that are coming in as DNIS. We have DNIS turn on the route, the route is acquired in Symposium and the DNIS is entered into Symposium. I have also temporarily routed the DNIS in the main script...

Am I overshooting in my job search?

I don't think anyone, beyond search and rescue, NEEDS a hummer. On the same token I seriously doubt anyone NEEDS to work at a Fortune 500 company. Maybe you want to for the prestige, extra benefits, or you want to jump your way up in a small company but no one NEEDS to work at one. As kHz...

    Resumes before Graduation

As far as one liners go my boss said I was called in for the interview after reading "I am cursed with a sunny disposition" in my cover letter. Of course if you are not an out going positive person you should maybe put something else.

    CDN CDR

Ok, I do have information on the trunk, but it doesn't give us the CDN between the trunk and the extension. I've even turned on ICDA in the CLS of every phone and I still can track when a CDN is used to connect the call.

    CDN CDR

Is there a way to get CDR data on a CDN?

Is Switching Jobs too much really THAT bad?

Thanks guys. That makes me feel much better about taking the job. Ironically I spoke with my boss yesterday and infatically described how I distain my job and what we needed to do to make it better. I believe he understood what point I was at (leaving) and again promised to make things...

Is Switching Jobs too much really THAT bad?

I am currently employed at a business in which I'm only performing half of my job description. I'm technically supposed to be part PBX guy and part Security guy. I specifically asked when I received the promotion that I would rather stay in my current position if there was a chance that I...
