I see the rush to jocky for position.

Skip,

[glasses]Just traded in my old subtlety...
for a NUANCE![tongue]

There's a worry we'll get caught with our pants down, but better that than the dreaded wedgie.

The internet - allowing those who don't know what they're talking about to have their say.

I was considering what twin words had to do with briefs, jockey shorts, and/or boxers, then I decided not to pursue that line of thinking. <grin>

I knew there was a pair that really bugged me but couldn't think of it when this thread started...

"Are you going to perform a roll switch in that cluster so I can role out those changes?"

Annihilannic.

One I read the other day in an email from a lady I thought was very intelligent: "I don't know where he is. He got into some legal trouble. Maybe he's on the lamb."

I can picture him running from the law riding a small sheep.

She got all huffy when I pointed out her mistake. I don't mean a bicycle. It would be faster than a lamb.

I can't figure that one out... what did she really mean to type??

Annihilannic.

on the lam" (Definition)

Ah, thanks. Foreign stuff. :)

Famous Glasgow expression:

"Come on, get off, the bus is starting to stop."

It is time for pacifists to stand up and fight for their beliefs.

Ha. Famouse Welsh expression.

"I do that now in a minute after".

I'm looking forward to reading the next entry about actual twin words.

In fact I'm waiting with "baited" breath.

While bisecting the geometry problem I realised I could solve it by simply dissecting the angle!

I found this pair of troublesome twin words to be especially ironic; however, you must understand the context. The government is attempting to annex an unincorporated area, and one of the residents of the unincorporated area responded with this:

"We would hope that the consolidated government would respect the wishes of we Hernandez Heights residents and seize and desist from the acquisition process, ..."
