The motto of this Making an Impression forum is:

The words we use and how we use them often reflect our professionalism.

(Please do not misunderstand my intent with this thread. I do NOT intend it to be political in nature. I'm trying to understand how this person can justify and reconcile his words with his behavior from a Making-an-Impression, word-usage perspective.)

Click on this link and help me understand how this apparent commitment could fail so completely? If a news outlet replayed this video on national television, what could be the speaker's explanation?

I was just reading an article HERE about the lack of response on the "We The People" petition web site, and saw this quote...

J.H. Snider said:
J.H. Snider, a fellow at Harvard University's Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics, predicted in The Huffington Post in October 2011 that "We The People" would "probably only have a short life ... because the interests of the public and elected officials differ."

The part that stands out the most to me as being right on the money is...

The previous quote said:
"... because the interests of the public and elected officials differ."

If you aren't aware, the We The People web site allows you to create a petition. If it receives over 25,000 signatures, the government is required to respond to it. So far the government only seems to respond to those that are politically benign, or are in alignment with the current administration's direction.

So a web site that is actually a great idea, just becomes another political tool. Another lie.

Have fun.

A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.

What an absurd non-sequitur.

No, the fact that America is broken means it needs to be fixed, not abandoned.

If any moving is to take place, Canada doesn't seem to be too big of a cultural shift. At least the languages are pretty close.

No offense to any citizens of countries outside the U.S., but the only place I'd like to travel outside the U.S. is Hawaii. <grin>
