SX 50 Printer Setup help 1

Can some one please help me set up Okidata 320 Printer to SX 50 System. I've tried connecting cables and programming as book says, but still doesn't seem to be working.

Can I just move a port 13 to some different open port temporarly untill i get a new card...

You can try moving the port and disconnect the jumper but that may not fix it as I think it is internal to the card. If you try that and the alarm still comes in you can temporarily disable diagnostics in com 100 reg 01 bit c. Do you know how to clear alarms when they are read?

to figure out which room number is under port 13, you press command 304(card 4) r13 right ?

correct, once you do that compared to *31 they are gone, and *32 clears busy outs also.

You were talking about reseting the card...how do you reset the card besides shuting down the whole system...is it *31 & 32 you were talking about ?

reseating the ons card by pulling it out and inserting it again, sometimes the contacts get corroded.
*31 reads alarms but does not erase them so they can be read at a later date, something you would want a console operator to do.
*32 reads alarms and clears them out as well as clears busyouts

Sorry for the late reply. i was out of town. Didn't even try yet. Those serial ends haven't arrived yet.

I connected pin 1 to 1 and 2-2 etc....but no luck...still not dumping anything to printer...doesn't give me any kind of errors either...

Do you know anyplace/website who has good deals on CC 2 ?

no not really, other than if you try ebay.
I trying to remember, did you try the printer or cable on another SX-50 to isolate this trouble?

no, not yet...i will do that as soon as i get chance to go to other propery. had a question Mr. Pandabear1, do you know if its possible to to add DID to sx 20. If I am not mistaking, DID allows outside callers to go directly to extention by punching just extention number and without going to the attendant, right ?

The SX-20 does not have DID as does the SX-50. I am not sure of your application but the SX-20 has DISA (Direct Inward System Access).

Still didn't get chance to get to the other property yet. I will do that soon hopefully. Had another question for you...Does SX 50 has caller ID feature ? I know it displays extention ID when a perticular is calling but does it show ID of outside callers ?

no CLASS trunking.

There is no way we can put caller id on it ? by adding any type of cards ?

no, but, if the calls are to be displayed at a console as an example, what I used to do is put call display units at the console if need be. This can be a deterent if there are a lot of trunks, but just an option.

There are only 6 Trunks...Can you tell me how to do that...but that will display caller's numbers right ?

We are getting too many blank calls these days...All of our staffs are tired of blank callers..
