I have SMGR 6.3 it’s working but failed to login System Manager web admin password, I am sure it was working last week, when I try to change password there is err “Password cannot be changed now contact your administrator”. I try by SSH also says permission denied, I can access CDOM system platform. Pls help..

There is documentation on how to change the admin password. I'll try and find the link, but it is findable.

It's in the appendix of any release notes for SMGR

If you can, get into dom0 as root, do "xm console smgr" and then you can login directly as root by CLI to reset admin's CLI password and you can do the web admin password reset according to the release notes.

Thanks for help,
I found this procedure but got half of it yep I reached up to xm console 3 login as root but what is next? still searching for next pls help link me that notes.

"""You can reset the System Manager web admin password from its command line. You need to be root to do that. If you cannot ssh into System Manager as admin (or any other account), then you can connect to its console. As it is a virtual machine, you can do that in Xen/System Platform by logging in via ssh to dom0 as admin or cust, then su to root, then run the command "xm list". That will print all the virtual machines running and their domain ID as a digit. If System Manager were domain 3, "xm console 3" would bring you to the console and you could log in directly as root. If you're using VMWare, then from the vSphere console you could just bring up a console window for System Manager and again log in as root directly. The procedure is easy enough to follow,

Follow the procedure
Basically, you reset admin's CLI password, add him to a special security group in linux and there's a backdoor webpage where you can log in with your admin CLI password and use that to eventually to get to backdoor password reset page where you don't need the previous password.

kyle555 Thanks,

It’s didn’t work with me may be b/c of 6.3, going to Re-install Template.

you don't need to reinstall it... you're definitely doing something wrong!
