Hi to everyone,
Is there a way to schedule a repetitive csv import operation, for short numbers and phonebook?

Thank you

Luan

What is mcd 5? Is it the version of the system?

Version of the SW.

There was a serious revamp at Release 10 that became MCD 4

MCD 5 is the equivelent of release 11.

This is the result of the show version, i cannot figure how to understand what release or MCD is. Can you help me?

Oh my, even I don't know the conversion to release from those numbers.

on the web gui, there is an "About" button up near the help.

What does it say?

Im looking at a release 5 system and it says call control 41 so working backwards I think you are either MCD 4.0 or 4.1 which does not have scheduled operations

Oooooh you might have more than a few issues if you're still at release 9

It's an even bet that your Hardware needs to be replaced $$$$

It's even more likely that your Software Maintenance has expired $r$$

Can you provide the Memory size found in the form: System Hardware Compute Cards

I suspect you will see something like this:
[tt]

Memory Size: 268435456

If you have 512+ instead of 256+ then you have good hardware

There is still a small chance that the RAM can be increased if the hardware is a CX chassis (picture?)

The hardware is the MXe type and the memory is good

This is good news and it is upgradable

Now you need to talk to your vendor to find out if the sw maintenance with Mitel is active.

Upgrading from rel 9 is quite more complicated than usual so I recommend you hire an expert for that.

Ok, thanks a lot, obviously i'll contact my vendor to do the job, but I'd like to know all issues and possibilities before that.

The DB was overhauled at MCD 4.0 (rel 10) to bring remote directory synchronization onboard and eliminate deep dance on Opsman. For single sites this is not much of an impact other than the fact that the upgrade must be staged first to MCD 4, then a database migration to convert the DB to the new format, then upgrade to MCD 5.
at each stage, the DB is incompatible with the next so it is imperitive to get backups before and after each stage.

In the background, the licenses on the Mitel AMC are also changed to a new format that cannot be rolled back.

If you were my customer and a standalone system I would discuss if your plans might include a 2nd system in the future as the license types are different at Rel 5 than at 9. If yes, I would recommend purchasing the networking option (if you don't have it already) prior to upgrading to convert your licenses to Enterprise instead of standalone.

There is probably a half dozen things I'm not mentioning but that is sufficient I think to convey the complexity

P.S.

I have done several dozen of these upgrades myself. I can remember at least 3 that required Mitel Tech Support to resolve issues caused by the process (no error on my part)

If everything goes as designed, experts are not required. Experts are required because everything does not always go as designed and someone needs to fix it.

Deep dance? Autocorrect :-(

Thanks for clearing up the deep dance! I was scratching my head on that one...

Wow, I didn't ment to do such long posting, I need to sync the short numbers to act as a part of a huge alcatel system, and in the future probably this mitel will be dismissed for a remote shelf of the main alcatel system. So by now my only needings are 3000 short numbers and the capability to import automatically a csv at scheduled time.

Due to the fact I'm not an expert on mitel systems, I'll order the upgrade by my vendor.

Thanks to everyone, very kind of you

Luan

Will the 3000 numbers be changing periodically?

If so, you may have a problem unless the short dial number remains the same and you are only changing the actual dialled number.

The Mitel can import Speedcalls from CSV.

The Mitel can update Speedcalls from CSV

The Mitel cannot replace speedcalls from CSV

The Mitel cannot range remove existing speedcalls (only 1 at a time [banghead])

**********************************************
What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

The speed dials will not change, possibly the dialed number may change in some occasions, the update has to be done daily or maximum weekly.
