IP Office Embedded VM 9.1.4 using prerecorded AA greeting 5

I am working on an IP Office Embedded Voicemail system at 9.1.4. I am trying to load a prerecorded greeting to the Auto Attendant. There is only one Auto Attendant on the system. I have the wav file, which was converted using the LVM Utility to the g711 file. I upload it on the system sd card, and point the menu option to the file, but it plays empty air. The button choices still work for reaching extensions, but if I didn't know the choices I'd think the system is dead. I use System Status and see the call come in, go to the aa while I listen to dead air, and if I choose an extension the call is sent there. I just can't figure out why the message doesn't play. The file name is PPday.g711 and the AA menu option name is PPday. Here's the steps I've taken.

selected system and logged in
Click on System SD, click on System, click on Dynamic, click on LVMAIL, click on AAG.
Right click on center column, Files, choose UPLOAD, navigate to my file with the .g711 extension.
I get file complete, and close the box.
I exit file management, and go back to the configuration, log in again.
I go to Auto Attendant (there is only one on this system) take the check off enable local recording and change menu options recording name to the same name as the file I uploaded without the file extension.
I click ok, save, merge.
I wait 5 minutes and test. I get dead air.

Does anyone know what I've missed?
 
Thanks Okkie26, I've done that. Both by choosing the option in the file menu, and by unplugging the power from the system. Still hear dead air. I even set up a short code, 297, to try to listen to the greeting, but I get a busy signal. Any other ideas?
 
Did you type the recording name in the "Recording Name" field? It doesn't check the actual name of the file loaded but the name assigned when you converted it...which you can't see....

Waht type of WAV is the original greeting?

Mono, 8 bits, 18 bits etc.

Check the help file to make sure this does match the type the LVM greeting utility supports.

 
The source file must be in the standard format used for all system applications: PCM, 8kHz 16-bit, mono.
 
He's using the wrong name, it's not the filename it looks for :)

 
My original file when viewed in Sound Recorder is
Bit Rate 64bps
Audio Sample size 8 bit
Channels 1 (mono)
Audio Sample Rate 8kHz
Audio format CCITT u-law

I change the format to PCM, Attributes 8.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Mono it shows 15kb/sec
I was having trouble with the LVM Utility, so I sent the file to our Avaya tech support, who converted the file to .g711 format. That's the file that I upload on the system.
 
amriddle01, what is the file name it looks for? Are you saying I need to call it something else in the AA menu options?
 
Thanks for trying to help with this. It's been driving me bughouse since last week. The customer is starting to get really annoyed at the delay. I just don't know what else to try.
 
Sorry Okkie, thought I'd answered your last question, must have forgotten to submit post. This is a medical office dealing with losing weight. The file name is wgtloss, as well as the name of the auto attendent. It is less than the 8 character max, so I don't think the name is bad.

It doesn't look at the filename, it looks at the "Recording Name" that you need to enter when you create the file :)

The LVM Greeting Utility is part of IP Office Manager. The utility converts WAV files into the format used by embedded voicemail on IP500 and IP500 V2 systems.

For IP Office Release 9.0, Avaya has enhanced the utility. Previously you could only use it to create auto attendant menu files (see the existing IP Office Manager help). For IP Office Release 9.0 you can now use it to create mailbox name, greeting and announcement files as detailed below.

The Pre-Recorded File
The pre-recorded file must be in the following format: WAV file, Uncompressed PCM, 8KHz, 16-bit, mono.

Converting the Pre-Recorded File
1. Start IP Office Manager.
2. Select File | Advanced | LVM Greeting Utility. The utility menu appears.
3. Click the à browse button on the Input File line and select the source .wav file.
4. Click the à browse button on the Output File line. Browse to the folder into which you want the converted file placed.
Enter a file name with the suffix .c11 for an IP500 V2 file or .c23 for an IP500 file. Enter a name that clearly identifies the files usage, for example Extn210Greeting.c11.
Click Save.
Click on Output File Type and select the type of prompt file you want created.
In the User Extension field enter the name of the user or hunt group. Ensure that the name matches that set in the IP Office configuration.
For IP500 V2 systems leave the Format set to G711. For IP500 systems set the Format to G723.
Click OK. Note that this button is greyed out if any of the required fields have not been set.
Change the file extension of the new file from .c11 or .c23 to .clp.
Uploading the Converted Files to Embedded Voicemail
Start IP Office Manager.
Select File | Advanced | Embedded File Managementà .
Select the IP Office system and click OK.
Enter the appropriate user name and password for configuration access to the system and click OK.
The embedded file management window appears.
Click System SD | DYNAMIC | LVMAIL for an IP500 V2 or LVMAIL for an IP500.
Click File | Upload Fileà .
Select the file or files to upload and click Open.

Checking the Files
The system does not use new uploaded files immediately. It begins using uploaded files after it next performs embedded voicemail housekeeping, which occurs every 5 minutes. Therefore, wait approximately 5 minutes before making test calls to check the use of the uploaded files. Alternatively, new files are used following a system reboot.

File Deletion
Using the phone interface to manually record a new name, greeting or announcement causes the system to delete any uploaded file it is currently using for that prompt.

In Holland we have a saying " laat ze er maar op wachten tot ze een ons wegen..."

In English this will be something like "Let them wait untill the weight an ounce..."

 
The point is, I don't know what name the tech support set as the 'recording name'

Did they mentioned that?

Are you sure? You didn't do it yourself....

Either way it works for me, if it's in the correct format before you start and you name it correctly it works, I have found the group and user greeting a bit buggy but the auto attendant upload always works :)
