I am attempting to move our IP Office 500 to a new location with a newly installed ISDN30 line.

When I have plugged the system in I cannot make or receive external calls, the only real difference is the fact that our current ISDN30 is a 6 channel and one we are moving to is an 8 channel. If the system was still configured for 6 lines though 8 where available would this stop it from getting an outside line?

When trying to make a call I received a 'Waiting on Line' message.

Is is a different telephone number and I setup incoming call routes for the main number and a couple of DDI's.

Any ideas?

6 channels? Starting point for ISDN30 is 8 channels....are you sure you didn't have BRI/ISDN2 ? :)

No, is it ISDN30, we have a very old contract when you where allowed 6 channels and we have never upgraded it to 8.

If it is set to 6 channels then you will have this problem.
You will need to change the PRI30 settings on the IPO to 8 channels.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Was it DASS with a converter? Either way with ISDN30 it's plug and play, it knows how many channels to use even if you are licenced and configured for 30 channels and only have 8 it will work just fine. So you either have a ISDN30 that hasn't been activated/brought into service (BT don't do this automatically) or you have changed the default config or something's faulty :)

Thanks for the replies :)

DASS with a convertor? Unsure tbh, my normal tasks on the Avaya are adding extensions and updating short codes and what not, out of my depth on the this one!

So, I am correct in thinking if the system is currently configured to work on an ISDN30 (as it is) then I can plug it in to any other active ISDN30 and I should get an outside line?

Will make a phone call to BT this afternoon...can't wait for that treat! [thumbsdown]
