Can somebody help me please. We had a power outage. When power came back on. Our Avaya partner reset itself. I try setting it up and spend 5 hours playing with the system. When somebody dials our number it goes directly to the receptionist to extension 10. (your call been transferred to the receptionist). What do I do.

Thank you

well then it sounds like you have all the extensions in #505? go to #505 and make sure that all extensions are not active.

TouchToneTommy How do i find out. the labels say partner and voice mail modular has a sticker partner 2

Ok, well as touchtonetommy (awsome guy) See if you can find out what partner system you have. And while your looking at the phone system to see what partner system you have, see which voicemail is installed. And then we can pinpoint the problem. Also, which modules you have starting at slot one, most left slot.

example, 308 ec, mail, r6 processor 206 etc.. etc..

I am little rusty on the Partner II. But if you call and it goes directly to voicemail. Normally the cause would be putting extensions in hunt group 7. If you call each extension and you get the welcome to partner mail message, that also points at the hunt group 7. But you indicate that no extensions are in hunt group 7. I will read over some notes and see what comes to mind, unless tommy has a suggestion while i look.

before i came here i reset the system completely

also, If I put any extension that we used before into hunt group. I just rings none stop.

Well, look at #206 and see if any of your 4 lines are active. You could make them not active and test it.

#206 in grpcalldist 7 none of the lines are assigned

The nicad batteries in your Partner II processor are dead. It lost its memory when the power went out. Now the voice mail ports are no longer programmed, so they are anwsering the incoming calls, and not receiving mode codes to indicate how to handle the call, they are transferring to Ext. 10.

From your picture (excellent information, by the way), your voice mail ports are 26 and 27.

From Ext. 10, with the handset in the cradle, dial:

Feature 00
Left Intercom Twice
#505-7-26-1
#505-7-27-1
Feature 00

This takes care of the short term problem, the incoming calls being answered improperly.

Next you need to set the lines to be answered in #206-7-(Line Number)-1. The number of rings in #506-(1=Immediate/2=Delayed)

Then you need to program Auto VMS Coverage for extensions with mailboxes, #310-(extension number)-1

Finally, you need to program the ringing, features, buttons, etc.

[red]And ALL of this will go away with the next power interruption!!![/red]

It's time to replace that processor, preferrably with an ACS.

thank you, thank you, thank you
Before I did all the changed I put a battery back up.
I had a laud speaker in the warehouse when we pressed *70. its not working now. How do I set this up?

I did this #310-(extension number)-1 and voice mail answers now. how do i adjust the ring tones.

TouchToneTommy do you sell phone systems?

Fixed the rings.

100000000000000 thank you to both of you telcorookie and TouchToneTommy.

Also, TouchToneTommy can you tell me how to change the gritting on the voice mail.
