Can somebody help me please. We had a power outage. When power came back on. Our Avaya partner reset itself. I try setting it up and spend 5 hours playing with the system. When somebody dials our number it goes directly to the receptionist to extension 10. (your call been transferred to the receptionist). What do I do.

Thank you

intercom 777
extension # (ext 0 is your AA greeting)
default password
option 3

if i remember correctly

Your last question was how to reset the greeting correct?

The greeting is in the extensions voicemail

Good Morning,

My question was about intercom. It use to work by pressing system program and *70. Now when I do that it gives me a busy signal.

Thank you

Add your extensions to Calling Group 1, #502-1-(Ext. No.)-1, then *70 (Simultaneous Page) will work, because now there is something to Simultaneously Page!

WOW you are good. Thank you
Do you sell phone systems.

TouchToneTommy what would you recommend in getting as far as the new system?

What do you think:
700469687 1Partner ACS R8 509 Processor Module
700226525 1Partner Voice Mail (PVM R3 Large)

or

700469687 1Partner ACS R8 509 Processor Module
700429384 1Partner Voice Mail (PVM R3 Smaill)

The ACS R8 is a fine processor, it will give you 5 lines (actually 4 and an output for your loudspeaker paging) and 9 telephone sets. You can use it in the carrier you have now, along with the 206 modules you have now, for a total of 8 lines and 21 telephones. You can reuse your Partner Mail VS if you want, you just can't use the Do Not Disturb buttons on the phones.

The difference between the 2 voice mail cards you asked about is the number of mailboxes that you can assign. The small has a maximum of 4 mailboxes, while the large can go to 16, although that slices the total recording time down to just a few minutes per mailbox. But, you need to decide if the PC card mail will suit your purposes.

I would be careful of the PC card voice mail. If you are used to a larger mail (even though it is older) there are features the little one doesn't have; generally the one people miss is the ability to forward a voice message from one mailbox to another.

I would reuse the Partner Mail VS if it is still working; a more robust voice mail. Also, the R6 Partner is a little less $$; the R8 that adds a couple of things like time clocked off caller ID (which will also be new for you) and caller ID to single line sets; which is good because you can use a cordless and get caller ID - finally -

Personally I wouldn't consider the R7 because Avaya is going to discontinue it. The R6 is a different chassis (3 lines, 8 phones) so they are keeping it.

One other thing - scary to me, but I know a lot of people who have done it. There is a company that sells replacement batteries for the older processors - you would have to open the plastic carrier to do it. A client of mine did it himself about 6 years ago and his system is still working - it was a "temporary" fix....

Can some one tell me how to block the lines, so another person wold not pick it up when some one is talking on the phone.

Assign automatic privacy, #304-XX-1 to each extension, except the voicemail ports.

Please start a new post, this one is pretty long to slog through!!
