Ok seriously concidering putting on SP2 at home. I've heard horror stories and that's why isn't not on there now.

You could also try a progam called icon lock we use it in schools and it works well to keep kids away from things we don't want them to use.

Its when you click on Start and shut down it only has the option to log off user. This is an XP Pro that is joined to a domain.

On a client's computer when she goes to shut down it now only gives her a Log off User option in the drop down. It used to have Shut sown, Restart, and so on. How can I get those options back.

I had a similar issue after 1st getting my pc built, when I saw the options for safe mode one listed (Win WP) was enable VGA mode, I then loaded the direct X 9.0 drivers and it went away.

I had a similar problem and after booting into the Enable VGA mode I installed the direct X 9.0 drivers and the probelm went away.

It has been my experience when moving a Remote Desktop icon from 1 user to the all users folder it makes an unusable icon for the other users. However if you copy that same icon and paste it to each user's folder seporatly then they work fine. It may be the same for Palm Desktop.

As tech folk we should concider that what the tech told your pals wife may not have been what she then explained to him. The tech may have tried to simplify the issue making it sound normal to her but crazy to us. Or we all know how users will confuse parts and what they do. How many times...
Seriously if your under paid such as if you work at a school then out in the business world you would be worth a lot more. Don't worry about it.
