my homepage has been changed to and whenever I change it in tools>internet options and click apply as soon as I close it changes back to msn again. I'm running adaware and pest patrol and mcafee security centre but these have detected nothing.

Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

You may have something set in Pest Patrol that monitors changes to your home page and dissallows them, to prevent hijacking. The default may be MSN. You need to find the setting and change the default to whatever you want your home page to be.

I have changed nothing the homepage changed from google to msn evernight

Is this at home or at work? If it's at work, are you on a network? The reason I ask is, it sounds like a Network Administrator has setup the default homepage in Active Directory to be msn.com. If so, there's really not a whole lot you can do about it. It's just a matter of your PC taking orders from it's "boss" on the network.

Hope This Helps!

I'm in for the non-network PC solution. Two options:
1 - HijackThis. Config - Main. Change the Default Start Page. Either ABOUT:BLANK or your choice. Use the full address (2 - Spyware Blaster. Tools - Browser Pages. Click to select what you want changed (suggest clicking "More Info" first, to understand just what you are about to change), then type in your preferred page (full address). Also, click on the IE Settings tab and check the "Disable the Homepage..." option (you can always come back and undo this if you want to change your homepage).

Caution - only change the Homepage/Start Page! Suggest leaving the IE default settings alone.
