are the permissions on the subfolders set to inherit permissions from parent folders?

do you know any local user a/c at all, e.g. the administrator a/c? if so log in with this and rejoin the domain this would be the easy way out......

is it an option to install the printer using just the driver files ? are you using an admin a/c? i take it you can install other software from cd on these machines? what make/model is the pc? is system restore disabled? seems a bit like "needle in a haystack" going on here but anymore info...

thanks Jimbobp, i actually got to the bottom of this, i hadnt noticed a major event in the event log in symposium that was to do with reports, rebooting the symposium machine cleared it up (would have tried this sooner if it was possible but couldnt power down due to business reasons) thanks again
