I was watching Tech TV tonight about monitors. Leo said the refresh rate should be at 75 or higher to avoid flicker too. I just wanted to throw that in the fire with the rest of the replies. Take care......Harley
Sounds to me like maybe you have a virus? You do virus scan? Maybe you should think about Fdisking and reinstalling your OS all over again and start with a nice clean fresh HD. I think that is what I would do. There is no adjustment to make the menus go fast or slow. Have a good...
You are not going to want to hear this...BUT....You need to fdisk and reformat your HD and then Install Win 98 SE And Your problems will be over. You also may want to check out Win 2000. FYI Win 95 is OLD SCHOOL.....Just Like Win 3.11. I think you will be happy once you switch to a more reliable...
Well I was going to stick my 2 cents in but the previous reply hit the nail right on the head. You follow his instructions and you will be just fine. He explained it PERFECTLY for you and very easy to understand. I hope you thanked him for taking the time out to write this out like he did. Have...
YES!!! The reply before mine is so right and next time you defrag try and defrag in Safe Mode. You get a better and faster defrag and don't have to worry if something is running in the background and make sure you disable your screensaver too. Enjoy !!!!

Just to confirm what the previous reply said. You ned to restart by holding the shift key while booting and select "Safe Mode" You can change your settings there.
Here is the easiest and best way to defrag. When you defrag NOTHING is supposed to be runnibg in the background. Not even a screansaver or do not even touch the mouse and keyboard when system is defragging. So.....Boot into SAFE-MODE and defrag in safe mode. Works great everytime. I learned this...
Easy fix. You need to go to the BIOS and disable your power management and also in your power management in your control panel make sure you put all the settings as never. Default is 15 min I think. But chose never from the drop down menu. Then go to Microsoft.com and do a search for the Win 98...
I thought I would add to the previous reply. He has covered it well. I think it's the card yoo. Try what he said including sticking it a new slot if it's a pci. Most important of all to make sure the drivers are updated and not to have any magnetic forces or speakers or flouresent lighting...
