I have a Dell Optiplex GX1 PIII-500MHz with 128MB RAM running Windows 95, it is dual networked to a NT domain and a netware server.

We run a custom made database, stored on a NT server which the Dell is connected to using a small front end app.

This machine was slow, often crashing and regularly complaing of low system resources and failing to start additional apps (Office 97, Outlook 98 etc)

So I reinstalled it.

It has been fine for the last couple of weeks until now - the same symptoms appear to be appearing and oddly all the icons on the Office toolbar are pointing to the wrong apps (Excel icon opens Powerpoint!)

I know its probably got something to do with the database software, but if anyone can offer any other ideas - Ide be very grateful.

Regards

Graham

OS windows 95 uses alot of memory maybe you should check to see if you have enough memory or maybe you should check and see what all you have loaded into the startup menu, you might have some stuff in there that you don't need in the startup. Well hopefully this helps. Good Luck!!

You are not going to want to hear this...BUT....You need to fdisk and reformat your HD and then Install Win 98 SE And Your problems will be over. You also may want to check out Win 2000. FYI Win 95 is OLD SCHOOL.....Just Like Win 3.11. I think you will be happy once you switch to a more reliable and much better OS. Have a good day.....Harley
