    DST troubleshooting

We have just a couple of users whose Outlook 2007 calendars are not correctly reflecting DST changes. We have all patches installed on our 2003 Exchange server and on the PCs. Outlook time zone and PC time zone are both set to DST. I would like to be able to check the actual dates the computer...

Added a 2008 DC without running AP prep first - can i run it now?

Thank you to 58Sniper and ShackDaddy, you are both correct. In checking the schema version, I find that it is correct (47) for 2008 R2. I guess dcpromo is smarter than I am!

Publish netwok folders to local computer

If you can use shortcuts to the folders on the users' desktops, create a shortcut to the folder on the server, then add something like this to your logon script, adjusting for OS: copy \\server\folder\folder.lnk "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\desktop\folder.lnk

Added a 2008 DC without running AP prep first - can i run it now?

So I didn't do my homework and added a 2008 domain controller to my 2003 forest without running adprep first. We are having some issues. Can I just run it now, or do I have to demote the 2008 DC, run adprep, and then re-promote it?

Delete a partition on a production Exchange server

I have a 2003 server running Exchange 2003 with 2 partions on the RAID hard drives. Ran out of space there, so moved the database to a 300 GB logical drive on the SAN (also RAID 5). I connect to the SAN with the microsoft isci initiator. When first testing, I created a 20 GB partition...

    Removing folder redirection

Thinking about removing folder redirection for the app data folder ( it causes problems) from group policy. I want to be sure it copies back to the local user machine correctly if I do............Attached is a snapshot of current settings. Seems to me that Policy removal behavior would have to...

    Host Webinars

Can IIS server be used to host webinars? If so, is it at all practical, or would we be better off to use a hosting service?

    Printer "ready" status

These are network printers, not parallel. The ready status is failing in certain printers on both print servers, particularly the HP 2430 printers. Not surprising, I've had a lot of trouble with the 2430 print drivers.

    Printer "ready" status

Does anyone know why the printer does not display (in the Windows printer folder) as ready? I have the same printer installed on 2 different print servers. One shows ready, the other doesn't.........same physical printer. Both will print, but if the one that doesn't display "ready" is set as...

    WordPerfect installer errors

I have wondered about the ready status. Does anyone know why the printer does not display (in the Windows printer folder) as ready? I have the same printer installed on 2 different print servers. One shows ready, the other doesn't.........same physical printer. Maybe I need to post in a printer...

    WordPerfect installer errors

Hi, I'm getting WordPerfect installer errors when trying to print from other apps. We are using WorPerfect 10. When printing from other apps, the PC's are occasionally giving out WPOhotfix installer errors, or "the product you are trying to install is on a disk...." error, which requires about...

IE 7 and/or 8 can't accesss some websites; Firefox can

Sympology said: "Tried formatting the drive and starting again (just kidding)?" I'm just about there. Thanks for all of your suggestions; I have tried all of them. Nothing is helping. I can't spend much more time on it, so I think I'll just have to re-image. It's frustrating when you know there...

    Email Archiving in Exhange 2010

Thanks so much! Exactly what I was looking for...Interesting about the 2007 support. What I had read made it sound like it's already out there. So you would recommend Mimosa if we go third party? As I said. we've looked at it, and it does seem like a good product.

    Email Archiving in Exhange 2010

Looking for comments and opinions here. We have an Exchange 2003 Enterprise server in a law firm. For various business reasons, mailbox quotas don't work for us. We are growing out of control. We started looking at archiving solutions, like Enterprise Vault and Mimosa. They look good, but...

IE 7 and/or 8 can't accesss some websites; Firefox can

We're using Symantec Endpoint Protection. I checked the Windows Firewall, looks ok to me. Sites are mixed, one is federatedinvestors.com, another an extremely important site: http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasyfootball :) Seems to be getting worse, more sites inaccessible every day.

IE 7 and/or 8 can't accesss some websites; Firefox can

Dian - Thanks, that's the sitemeter stuff from 2008. I actually tried all of the fixes on that page, disabling add ons, put *.sitemeter.com into restricted sites, etc. Nothing helped.

IE 7 and/or 8 can't accesss some websites; Firefox can

Tried updating java and flash; I even uninstalled and reinstalled flash player. Disabled add ons, no change. There is no proxy server in place. Exact error is: Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site - Operation aborted" I did find some discussion on this problem from 2008, a problem...

Need help setting up Activesync for connection with Droid

I tried Touchdown and went back to the basic Droid email app. It connects to Exchange very well. You just have to update your password on the phone whenever you change your windows password. We just sync to the OWA site.
