I was going to add some appearance buttons to our receptionist's 5420/EU24 but the appearance options are grayed out. After some more digging, it's grayed out on most phones if I'm on anything like button 5+. Am I missing something?

Related to this, so what do you guys typically program the buttons as? We're not a call center, and there is very little overlap between job functions (no hunt groups). So far I have 1. call appearance 2. call appearance 3. twinning 4. directory 5. ?? 6. ??

Thanks for the info guys (and/or girls if that's the case), I'll just have to get people used to using the speed dials instead. Change always upsets people because they can't do exactly what they did before.

Oops, forgot to mention they are 5410 phones and one 5420.

I used them for home and our other 2 plants' main numbers, not internal extensions. Most others do the same with the other 2 plants.

As a confirmation we just went live on the 4th with our's and got the forward to e-mail with embedded working today. Setup was pretty simple. One note: if you use a Blackberry solution, make sure your server has Windows Media Player installed or the berries won't be able to play the .wav files.

One consideration, we are an old plant that covers a lot of ground, including a river barge loading station about 1/4 mile from our main office, so we have copper everywhere but not cat5, so an ip-only system probably wouldn't work.
