eu24 can't program appearance buttons

I was going to add some appearance buttons to our receptionist's 5420/EU24 but the appearance options are grayed out. After some more digging, it's grayed out on most phones if I'm on anything like button 5+.

Am I missing something?

appearances need to be programmed in a continuous block.

Thank you. I did find it in the manual but it didn't quite click I guess.

After seeing that, it made me think I was really missing something so I took a break, then revisited it and figured out what I needed to do 'the right way'.

Transitioning from the Meridian system has been an unlearning/relearning experience.
