Hi,
I need to create 2 child domains. Our main domain is a W2K domain. Would like the child domains to have 2003 DC's. Do I need to do ADprep and forest prep in the root domain?
Thanks!
Linny
We've also got an XP Pro with IE 6 -sp1 that is getting the following:
"An error has occurred in the script on this page.
Line: 1210
Char: 1
Error: Unspecified error.
Code: 0
URL: res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/preview.dlg
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? "...
Hi! I have a similar thread open, thread68-591559 , under the name "Cannot Delete Office Files While Word or Excel is Open" - the tips that are accumulating on http://www.experts-exchange.com/Applications/MS_Office/Q_20390021.html look like they exactly address my situation. I'll...
I see another thread has started, thread68-590019 , under the title of "File is Locked, Opened for Editing By Another User." Hopefully someone has resolved this problem! We used to have Novell clients which had all kinds of caching and file locking tweaks that could easily be done...
User with XP Pro computer opens a Word or Excel file on the Windows 2000 file server, then CLOSES the file but leaves Word or Excel open, then goes to Windows Explorer and tries to delete the file. File does not delete - says user has it open. Close Word or Excel. Now file will delete.
Any...
Thanks for anwering. Most of those things we have tried. I wasn't sure about the linking and embedding part? Our manuals may have 60 or more autocad drawings in them. We do it by clicking INSERT, FILE. We click on a .dwg file and that brings up autocad with the drawing. We edit and crop the...
I'm sorry I don't know how to describe this real well. Our people who write up the manuals for the compressors we build use Word. The manuals are kind of complex (lots of drawings from autocad, footnotes, sections, etc.) Several times a day, they get a really wild thing happening. A...
We have one XP workstation that receives its IP from DHCP and is correctly listed in WINS and in DNS. It doesn't have any personal firewall installed and the XP Internet Connection Firewall is not enabled. Yet, no other PC can see it in Network Neighborhood/Places!! From that PC, you can map...
Twice now in the last 2 weeks a remote site (2 Cisco routers and a leased line) has had PC's that announce a conflicting IP address. For example PC1 says there is a duplicate address & the offender has a 006... MAC address. DHCP says that the IP belongs to PC1 and correctly recognizes PC1 has a...
I hope you get lots of responses! We're having the same problem. I just tried setting HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\services\lanmanserver\parameters\autodisconnect to 65535 to see if that would help but it is too early to tell. We are having random disconnects. It happens to 9x PC's most...
This is one of the Top Ten Headaches for Netware Admins. Microsofties just look at you with a vaguely puzzled stare and wonder what all the fuss is about. The answer from Microsoft is that they have no intention of programming in that nifty feature that Netware Admins once took for granted and...
I need a DOS util that works through all subdirs with same command. For example:
sweep ren *.dbx *.ddd
will rename all files in all subdirectories with a dbx extensions to a ddd extension. Or at least it used to. Now with the great big long numerical identifiers win2k is using in its great...
