I was able to trace it to a defective set. If you used the speaker it sounds fine, the squeal was only when you used the handset. You can clear it sometimes by unplugging the set.
Has anyone configured an Avaya DS1 for use with an Eastern Research DNX? We get errors on the span only when we put traffic on the span. Loopbacks from end to end show no errors, so we think it is a setting somewhere. Any help will be appreciated
Check with your firewall personell. We had the necessary ports open (1719 and 1720), We were told that it went out on one port and but came back on a totally different one. They made a change on the firewall rules and that fixed it.
Oh, we were also able to ping all the boards.
Good luck.
In order to get IPAgent to work, I have to disable secure remote in the Local Area Network Properties.
Also we found out that that IP agent would not send and recieve on the same port.(see post on PIX firewall)
good luck
Make sure ports 1719 and 1720 are open in both directions.
Also watch out for any virus protection software that may impede the software.
Make sure it works from the LAN before trying it out on the VPN.
Good luck.
Currently we IP Agent R2 working in good order. We tried to upgrade to R4 but encounter iClarity errors. What is the difference between R2 and R4? We have a test Pc working with R4 with only the operating system on it. Have disabled virus checkers and any other program we could. still no luck...
Saw this once. When I listed config sta/all the second time it cleared. Seems that they had a DS1 board translated for non-existing trunks with the board removed. Customer was not interested in cleanup. Good Luck...
