I connect to the network using RAS no problem. But when I open MS Outlook, I can view the email folders and headers but I...
Here's hoping one of you guys know the answer to this one.
I have RH7.1 and Samba 2.2.2 running on 6 different servers.
4 of these work fine with file sharing and printing to SMB Windows printers.
On 2 sites, however, the print goes astray.
This is left in the spooler:

This is not as straightforward as it sounds. I have a HOSTS file correctly setup but cannot ping some of the names in the list. I can ping by IP address no problem.
If, however I open the HOSTS file and resave it without any modifications, I can ping by HOSTNAME no problem.

Hello all,
I wonder if any of you know of a way to enable the USB ports in NT4 Workstation.
I know the official line from MS is that they are not supported but would not be surprised if there was a 3rd party patch to fix this.
Hope to hear of a solution :-)

Panic Over!
I have managed to re-establish the secure channel by using NLTEST /SYNC and NLTEST /REPL. Also I deleted the netlogon.chg files on both the PDC and BDC and let the system recreate them on reboot and the problem is solved.
I have just installed a new BDC and all is not well. To save time I set the new BDC up at a different site from where it was intended for. I stll managed to join the remote domain, however albeit using the IP structure of my local site.
When I took the server to the site it was meant for, I...
I had a problem doing a similar thing. I got lots of excellent tips on this forum. Look for the thread called "Problems deleting a folder named same as a share".
Hopefully your solution will be found there.

The default configuration in Exchange 5.5 is to disable automatic replies to the Internet. You need to go to the IMC and click on Advanced Options. Uncheck the 'disable automatic replies to the internet' box and apply.
Finally restart the IMS and your Out of Office replies should now work...
I only know how to do this in Exchange 5.5.
Click on the configuration container and then in the right pane double click Site Addressing.
If you make any changes to the email addresses when you exit you are prompted if you want these changes to be made to all recipients in the site.
Hope this...
I have a folder called USERS which used to be on C: drive. It was also shared as USERS.
I then needed to move the folder from C: to D: because of space restrictions, so I unshared the USERS folder on C: and created a new USERS folder on d: I moved all the data across from c:\USERS to...
You need to run the Exchange Optimizer. It will allow you to move files from one drive to another safely without needing to change the registry manually.
This is the recommended way of moving Exchange.
:-)
Hope this helps,
John
In the Exchange Admin program, select configuration and then Information Store Site Configuration.
Click Top Level Folder Creation and then you can restrict or allow users to create Top Level folders as you wish.
This should keep your structure in order.
