BDC not authenticating to domain

I have just installed a new BDC and all is not well. To save time I set the new BDC up at a different site from where it was intended for. I stll managed to join the remote domain, however albeit using the IP structure of my local site.

When I took the server to the site it was meant for, I promoted the old BDC up to the PDC. The old PDC was then taken offline.

In Server Manager, I deleted and recreated the name of the BDC. Currently the new BDC was called BDC2.

I then booted up the new BDC and logged on fine. I then renamed it to BDC and rebooted. Again I could log on fine.

The problem is that the new BDC tries to authenticate to the PDC of the domain in which it was set up. I have tried using NETDOM to reset the secure channel and re-established the trust relationship between the 2 sites. All to no avail.

I need to know, if there is a way to fix this without reinstalling.

Hoping that somebody can help out

John :)

Before anyone asks, I forgot to say that obviously I changed the IP address to use the structure of the site I moved the server to.

Panic Over!

I have managed to re-establish the secure channel by using NLTEST /SYNC and NLTEST /REPL. Also I deleted the netlogon.chg files on both the PDC and BDC and let the system recreate them on reboot and the problem is solved.
