Have you assigned an IP address on the inside interface yet? That will need to be on the same subnet as the tftp server (I forget the way to do it on a different subnet)? Also, I recall that the pix device manager had a copy config or image to tftp option that you can try if the command line...

I really like the Cisco Press Books by ODOM. However, I think including a limited edition simulator that can't be used for all of the labs is a major dissapointment.

Network Visualizer 4......Sybex CCNA author Todd Lammle's simulator. It's pretty good but I haven't tried Boson's so I can't make a comparison. His labs have some typo errors which means you have to figure a couple of things out (which is sort of good to test you knowledge).

A known issue with the Pix and Exchange is fixup smtp. You need to enter the command no fixup smtp...... If I remember correctly, Exchange uses Ehello instead of hello or something like that. Hope this helps.

The "." zone means that you have your dns server set up as a root dns server. Check to see if you have any root hints servers listed. You need to delete that and make sure you have root hints servers listed. When a host queries something on the Internet, your DNS server queries those root hints...
