The Boson simulator is a great one as well. You can configure routers and switches, there are scenario and stand alone labs, and you can set up your own network the way you want to.
The only drawback is the expense, somewhere around $250 I think.
Hi all,
I'm relatively new to PIX configuration. In a test lab I am using a PIX515E with 6.3-4 code on it (I don't yet have the extra RAM to go to 7.0). I was wondering, is there no way to make the inside interface respond to an echo request from the outside? I've tried setting up the...
Firstly doing a sh ip route, ping, and traceroute will only help you to ensure connectivity so no, putting those in will not hurt you (as far as I've been told by a Cisco Instructor).
It definitely is necessary to copy the config to startup though.
I got a copy of the Testking CCNA exams a while ago from a friend. MANY answers were wrong, mistyped, or just plain didn't make sense.
Be careful with them.
yes bier - you're technically right, but as UKHicks stated, Cisco is still teaching the first and last subnet are non-usable, even in 4th edition books.
I may be mistaken...but shouldn't RIP be set for the 192.168.1.8 network instead of the 192.168.1.0?
sorry, have been out of that for a little while and im a bit fuzzy on it.
also forgot to mention, you may want to ensure all the cabling is good. In switching the lines a cable may have been pinched or gone bad, and CRCs are usually a physical error.
not stupid at all.
the sims are intermixed in. you wont know when you are going to get them.
the specific questions will be quite different each time you take the test, but the overall subject matter/concepts are the same of course.
the test will 'focus' on any area you are weak in. by...
We have a rather large network to handle/monitor. internal and external clients. roughly 850 internal servers and some 3000 WAN links. we use a combination of HPOV, Netcool, Lucent's VitalSuite, Sniffer, Ethereal, FlukeNetworks WGA's and T1/E1 analyzers. We do a yearly assessment to see if...
yes, as long as you do not leave the simulation you can go back and make changes to what you put. once you leave the sim question, it's done though, no going back. that goes for all the questions.
Cheers :)

marshall, with the skillset you obviously show in here and the ability to think through a problem like that...
combined with the ability to assemble a 'virtual' team of the right people to solve that problem...
you're going to get very very far. good luck to you, and hopefully you spread some...
As before, looks like you've some work to do on those soft skills ;)

come at me hostile, ill react hostile.
entirely different situation. id have thought someone as obviously clever as yourself could've seen that.
chicocouk you might have noticed how i was using his own words to show how it can be seen from both directions, and how i felt his one-sided POV was very biased and lopsided.
you just might have, but i think your ego got in the way ;)
