In addition to the SATA type power connector, some SATA drives also have a molex type power connector, like the IDE drives use. Maybe that's what you're looking at?
I'm far from being a Ghost expert, but I think there are switches that can be applied to work around bad clusters on the source disk. Have a look at the list of switches in the user guide.
Sounds like you fixed the problem, and hopefully the problem is fixed for good.
My folks had an issue months back with symptoms that seem nearly identical to what you're experiencing. Their connectivity would be good for about 20 minutes after startup, but then it would get flaky; in and out of...
The psinfo tool from www.sysinternals.com gives this information. And you can use it to check machines remotely, instead of having to go to every machine.

I really don't see any negative to picking up your A+. The $300 you'd have to spend (probably less than that) is totally worth it if the employers you'd like to work for won't even give you a moment's thought if you don't have A+.
I know that my employer will not consider employing anyone for...
linney's first thought is my first thought also. My Dell D600 laptop at work disables the onboard LAN port when I unplug the power source. It's designed that way to extend battery life; the logic being if you're only running on battery power, you're probably connected by wireless anyway, so...
Thanks for the info, everyone. Some really helpful information there.
Ideally, I wanted to come up with a way I could use W2K's recovery console off a cd, without the cd being a full installation cd.
Thanks again!

Thanks for the reply.
I understand I can boot from an OS installation cd, I don't have one available to me in this office. My question is...can the 4 floppy bootdisk set for W2K be burned to a bootable cd somehow?
Thanks,
JP
I know I came across at least one thread a while back where this was talked about, but I'm unable to find it now.
Can this be done easily? Just about everyone here has a laptop and most come shipped without a floppy drive.
Thanks,
JP
I went through an instructor-lead course for both A+ and Network+ and had a great experience with it. But the only reason I did so was because my employer was willing to pay for it. It probably wouldn't have been worth it if I had to pay for it myself.
I agree with all the advice above: do...
Congratulations! CompTIA recently changed the Net+ exam, so most of the study guide folks probably haven't caught up yet. But you passed and that's all that matters.
I recently picked up the A+ and Net+ certs and I know they had a lot to do with me landing a new tech support job that I start...
The company I work for has several mobile laboratories (box trucks) that are currently equipped with your typical desktop computer. They are crudely secured with bungee cords and/or velcro strips.
Does anyone know of any companies that manufacture computers designed specifically for moving...
If you can't find a registry fix, Tweak Genie allows you to change this setting. You can find it at www.zdnet.com
To be honest, this tool doesn't do a whole lot (as you'll see by the reviews here: http://www.windowsmarketplace.com/reviews.aspx?itemId=17878&stext= ), but it will accomplish what...
Lee & Dollie,
Thanks for the replies. I think I'll go the PDF route, since the file is only 45KB in that format. Thanks nonetheless for the RTF info, good to know.
