    wrv54g RSA VPN

Has anyone located documentation on the RSA configuration for this router? Apparently, all the configurations on this router are a big secret with Linksys because the documentation that came with the router was useless? The configuration guide did not even mention the RSA. I downloaded the...

RIP - which networks to advertise

Redwhip, You are absolutely correct. There is no reason to advertise netowrks that are not connected to you with any routing protocol (except BGP) since it is the routing protocol's job to advertise them to other routers. I have seen several study guides an whatnot where this is incorrect.

    IS-IS addressing

To answer your question, the NSAP address is not configured on the interface, but rather the protocol process [Router(config-router)#]. IP addresses can be configured on the interfaces when you are running Integrated ISIS (CLNS and IP). You must enable CLNS routing [Router(config)#clns...

    CCSP PIX test

I would read the New Exam Cram 2 that just came out over the cisco press. The cisco press neglects on several key topics and is not written for the latest and greatest PIX test. I read it and passed with flying colors.

    VLAN tagging and trunking

I am trying to get a grapso on VLAN tagging and trunking. Namely, when a frame enters the switch, is it tagged with the VLAN ID at that interface? And if so, how does it know to tag it using ISL or 802.1q if you have both types of trunks on the switch? Is this tag a different type of VLAN ID...

Waking up a suspended Asus A7v333

It doesn't have a wake-on-lan per se. It is more of a Wake on PCI card deal, but yes I have. However, I do not have the connection from the card to the motherboard for wak-on-lan. Is that necessary to wake it from a suspended state too? Thanks.

Waking up a suspended Asus A7v333

I am trying to troubleshoot why my system cannot wake up from a suspend power state via my network card in XP Professional. I verified that XP sees the system as an APCI compliant system. I also made sure in the card's properties to allow this device to resume from suspend. If I go to the pc...

    SSH Sentinel & Linksys BEFVP41

Since Netbios is broadcast based, your router won't inherently forward it. I know that the BEFXS41 VPN router has an advanced menu with a checkbox that allows netbios broadcasts to connect, but this can only happen if your remote IP is in the same subnet as your internal VPN network. In...

Linksys BEFXS41 VPN with Sentinel and NAT

It is a BEFXS41 with 2 VPN Tunnel endpoints. My goal isn't to setup the VPN through the router, but TO the router. It just does not work when I initiate the session behind a router gateway with NAT. I know that IPSec has issues with NAT, but supposedely Sentinnel gets around that with either...

Linksys BEFXS41 VPN with Sentinel and NAT

Has anyone managed to get the NAT-T or UDP encapsulation to work for either VPN endpoint router? I have the latest and greatest firmware on the Linksys and the Sentinel 4.1. I can connect all day outside of the NAT realm, but once I try behind the NAT router, I get INVALID COOKIES in the VPN...
