Hi

Would somebody please tell me if there is any reason why you would need to broadcast a non directly connected network using RIP.
From what I have understood you should only need to configure RIP with the locally connected networks and the rest of the RIP routers will learn from these advertisements.
Is this correct?

Thanks

Redwhip,
You are absolutely correct. There is no reason to advertise netowrks that are not connected to you with any routing protocol (except BGP) since it is the routing protocol's job to advertise them to other routers. I have seen several study guides an whatnot where this is incorrect.

Thanks that is exactly what I have seen as well. Just needed to double check to make sure.
