Does anyone know if there is a way to determine when a CPIO archive was created on a tape? I can read the table of contents and see when the files on it were originally created, but I am trying to determine specifically when the archive was created. Thanks

Version 8 and newer does not put CMS in single user mode. You can run your cmsadm backup without concern for dropping the pro services links. The only caveat is no one can log into the system while the backup is running, however no currently logged in user is affected.

Does anyone know how to create a custom message when a user closes an ftp session? I know you can banner a custom login message by setting a BANNER=statement in /etc/default/ftpd, but I haven't yet found a way to customize an exit message.
