Hi, I'm in the process of planning a migration from Groupwise 5.5 to Exchange 2000. I have the coexistance between Exchange and Groupwise configured and working. My question relates to issues we are currently having with the GWIA on the Groupwise side. The GWIA agent is going down...

Granting Proxy Rights for all Mailboxes

Hi, What is the best way to grant proxy rights to all Groupwise mailboxes to one particular user. I believe I read that there is a tool for this but haven't had time to research it further. I would also be interested to know if there was a way of removing accounts that currently have...

Replicating data from a Novell to Windows server

Hi, Does anyone know of a product that will do data replication from Novell to Windows. I'm looking for something that will do a one-time replication then do delta changes after that. The product doesn't necessarily have to be installed on the Novell server as long as the replication source...

    RAID 5 usable space

With a RAID 5 configuration how much disk space is lost. Is it always one drive, no matter how many drives are in the volume, or is it a specific calculation like (xdrives - 30%)? Thanks

Trouble Moving Mailboxes from 5.5 to 2000

You need to concentrate mainly on your ADC setup. If your intention is to migrate to E2K and get rid of Ex5.5, I would suggest setting up your ADC connection agreement's between Ex5.5 and AD only. Also the Exchange Migration Wizard would be the tool used to move mailboxes from Ex5.5 to E2K

Hi, I am in the planning stages of an Novell Groupwise 5.5 to Exchange 2003 migration. According to the Exchange Migration Wizard documentation, during the migration "The Groupwise post office must not be accessed by Groupwise clients, administrator programs, or other agents or gateways" and...

Hi - Windows 2000 server - new installation - advice

A lot depends on the number of user in your environment. Generally speaking I would have to suggest getting at least three servers. Build two DC's which could double as application and data servers and build one as your email server.

Can a NT4 WINS Server and Windows 2000 WINS Server be replication partners? Is there anything special that needs to be done to make this work properly?

    installing Exchange 2000

Sailesh, I just checked my notes and the account used for the installation also needs to be a member of the 'Enterprise Admins' group. Try that and give it another try and let me know what happens.

    installing Exchange 2000

Schema Admins should be listed as a Windows 2000 Security Group. Simply add it to the install user just as you would any other group membership.

    installing Exchange 2000

The account used for the install also needs 'Schema Admin' rights. Also did you run 'Domain Prep' and 'Forest Prep' prior to running setup?

    In-place upgrade question

In an NT 4 domain with one PDC and one BDC, if an in-place upgrade is done on the PDC and something goes wrong or for some reason you need to roll back to the NT domain is there any reason the BDC can't be promoted back to a PDC?

    NT Server Question

Based on your post I'm assuming that you have only one NT domain controller which would be the PDC. There is no way for you to make the current stand-alone W2K server a DC in your current domain. You would have to do an in place upgrade of your current NT PDC, then you would then be able to...

Claudek, you are correct that will accomplish the task but one thing I left out of my post is. I'm looking for a way to do this programtically or via a script, since we have hundreds of users being displayed incorrectly. Thanks
